I wouldn't call myself a fair weather racer, but when you have zero shot at any championships, and rain would make it difficult to shave that 1 second you need to make the bump to the next class, it doesn't look that appealing.

When you're not in the points chase in particular classes, and you have more than 1 bike, strategically waiting procrastinating also gives you the option of signing up for races on the more forgivable bike (i.e. motard) than one that I'll likely race in "rain" mode which knocks the motor down to a *paltry* 120 hp....

I do have a very expensive track day planned ~1 week after this round for which I need a healthy rider, healthy bike and serviceable gear.

Basically I have nothing to gain and very little to loose.

I pre-reg'ed. Plan to race with friends.. for better or worse.

I wasn't planning to race, but decided to start the bike yesterday while cleaning out the garage just to see if hearing that sweet sound would change my mind. Probably for the better, nothing happened when I hit the starter. Bike primes, but starter does not run. No idea why. No FI lights or any other indication of a problem.

Well, let's just say it hasn't been tested yet. Not sure I fancy risking it either. Been a good year thus far and last thing I need is to have to find an unobtanium ECU. Going to go with an aftermarket HRC copy ECU next year but need a TPS integrated for it to work well and be able to tune a 3D map. Probably going to bite the bullet and do a better dash and some other stuff as well.

I'll be there as will the Honda but I'm mostly concerned with getting a warm weather buddy thru the school and his first race weekend. So I'm playing it by ear.

Dead battery? Takes less juice to prime the pump than to spin the starter motor.
