As a new racer without a garage you can shack up in Center 18 next to GMD. That is the Newbie garage and is a courtesy for your first event. There will be experienced people stopping by and helping out.

Is this still the case? Or only for the first race of the year? Is that 18 in the middle or on the north?

Yeah the Center 18 garage is still available for Rookies. Its right next to the GMD garage and right across from me in 6 so stop in and say hi

yup if you're gonna be there all weekend might as well just set up there on friday.

If you're doing any of the Penguin stuff Friday, might be easier to setup in the North Garage near the action for the day, migrate over to the center garages that night.

Garage is there for you to use. Ill be in 19 if you have any questions. Dillon will be there too. Ill be up Friday morning and I think Dillon will be up Thursday. For Friday you are better off setting up in the North garages if you can but its not necessary.

when i did Penguin i set up in Center 6 and just did a bit more traveling. it was worth it to not have to relocate at the end of the day and worry about being in someones spot if they showed up early. i should be there sometime on friday also to get set up for the weekend. suggest you maybe do one of the TTD on the 9th or 10th to get warmed up. Karate.Snoopy was selling off a spot for the 9th for $165

JC took the basic course last race weekend, but didn't race.

I believe he's doing the rookie race this weekend, followed by some additional races.

(Mostly conjecture based on reading between the lines in multiple threads).

Unfortunately, at my current pace, I would be mentioned as an obstacle during track walks rather than as a racer.

Maybe... someday ... I'm not ready yet.

I know there are plenty of guys who show up for the Basic course on a Friday and are racing that weekend. That's not me.

I honestly don't have hopes of ever being one of the "fast guys", but I'm also not OK with being unreasonably slow.

Not out of the question ... just not now.
