How does it occur?
We have a non-stretchy membrane encasing our muscles called the Fascia. Putting demand on the muscle increases the blood flow since the muscle can increase up to 20% in volume and the fascia is not elastic it gets tight inside constricting the blood flow.
This constriction leads to intense pain as well as an under performing limb and there may also be numbness or weakness.
All things you do not want at very high speed on a motorcycle.
However, it is not likely to cause permanent damage to the limb.
How is it treated?
The only real option is surgery called a Fasciotomy.
A slit is made in the Fascia membrane to relieve the pressure.

Watched yesterday P2, Looks like there riding a bucking bronco over the crest of ten ,right at the apex or darn close. so there at 50 plus degrees, kicking them sideways down the hill... And of course the bravest are flying though it! Others I am sure are backing off.. just a tad.. The F1, Indy cars have made them, and now there adding Nascar.. So it will only be worse next year..Is it worse then last time? I haven't seen much practice.

The MotoGP paddock has erupted into a fresh safety controversy ahead of this weekend’s Grand Prix of the Americas, with a number of top riders claiming after the first day of practice that the Circuit of the Americas is not safe enough to race on thanks to an exacerbated problem with an extremely bumpy surface.
‘ New' rear ride height device explained.
Interesting. Rider arms it on entry of corner they want to use on exit. Rear shot drops when triggered by forks topping out.

That was a crazy crash one bike must have gone 30ft in the air with the rider holding on! Glad they seem to be ok. You can't bubble wrap the whole track and for the most part its a very safe track with alot of run off in the correct spots. Sometimes weird shit just happens. Multi us tracks need to keep the cars inside so some Armco is a must in some places..
Boring race for the most part... MM just kicked ass.. The guy just has the place dialed in! Q-man did what he had to do.. Jack Miller was a disappointment fast in all sessions.. Then fell flat.. Thinking tire choice was an issue?
I support a repave of Cota or a return to Indy.
Reeled in some solid points on my fantasy team!

A piece of air fence is way better then Armco. Stuff like that needs to be protected. I've seen bikes do some crazy shit in crashes like lifting off going into the bowl Loudon and almost getting back to turn two.
The big bikes wasn't the most exciting to watch but it was still a good race. Really hoping the new surface gets done in time. Should make the racing better and safer.

Always wondered why that didn't happen more frequently. With the riders swerving left and right to try to break the draft it seems too easy for a leading rider to take the front tire out from under a trailing or quickly approaching rider like happened here. The rest of the pack can only do so much to avoid the carnage when they're in a relatively large pack.
F1 has some rules to help try to prevent things like this but they have mirrors and know when someone is coming up on them. Not really sure how anything could be instituted in motorcycle racing to prevent the sweep across another riders bow taking them out.
Glad to see the riders walking away relatively unscathed.
Odd that the rider that caused the first red flag lost his glove in the crash. That could have bad consequences. Wonder if the wrist strap was done up correctly on the glove?
Man, fuck Jack Miller. Grabbing the reigning world champion by the helmet.
You grab me by the helmet, we're exchanging fists.
Get fucked, I lost the little respect I had for him.
"Reigning" is another word for "last year's"...
I'm a fan of Mir and amazed at what he accomplished last year, but he hasn't been able to do much of anything lately other than use other riders as berms.
And that's exactly what he did to Miller on the last lap, costing Jack two spots and Mir made no forward advancement at all out of the move and got no penalty as a result, either. I woulda been absolutely out of my mind furious if I were Jack, too.
And I don't think Joan is one to take that shit unless he deserves it. You could tell by his body language that he knew he fukked up.
Do I think Jack is hot blooded? Yes. Do I think he overreacted? Possibly. But I can't say I wouldn't have felt the same way.

The overreaction is what I have a problem for. No reason to grab another riders helmet like that, regardless of who it is honestly. Imagine if he were to grab Marc like that? The shit storm that would ensue.
Or Nicky; he had a shitty 2007 - still the world champion. Not everyone gets to dominate like Marc and Val have - I don't discredit Mir for how he won last year, the important thing is that he won.
