Quick question on the rules, would a ninja 250 be able to switch to EFI and be within the rules? it says ecu and carb modifications allowed, but im not sure how far that goes.
The Formula 300 class regarding Category "A" bikes follow the general Superbike rules (2013 rule book section 20.2) with the exceptions as outlined in Formula 300 rules (no singles any frame any motor, must be USA spec, only listed models etc).
This does allow you to switch from carb to EFI. Basically go to town on the head... intake and exhaust.

It doesnt gain much if anything other than the fact i want to make my 250 EFI already. I hate messing with carbs. I havent even done a trackday yet but i just purchased the bodywork for my 250. Hopefully i can do some trackdays this year and we will see where 2015 takes me

Based on the numbers, I'm thinking it should still be a category A machine, and I'd allow CBR250R owners to swap to the 300R's crank if they desire.

CCS normally has a blind spot for single cylinder bikes that allows them cart blanch to do what they please regardless of class rules. For instance, single cylinder machines in SuperSport are allowed open engine mods, just can't exceed class displacement limits. That line in F300 puts the kibosh on that tom foolery and keeps real motards out.
So, for this (or any bike not listed as approved actually) to be allowed it'd need approval by LRRS. Given what I know of the brand and motor, I'm going to say it'll get curb stomped on by Kurtz's WR. There is another brand putting that same motor into a 'sport bike' chassis that I pointed out earlier in the class discussions.
To Josh's "curb stomping" point...I've discovered I've brought yet another spork to a knife fight. I think that thing would be similar to bringing a straw.

Looks to me like everyone talking about this niche bike or that ridiculous modification or this rule loophole....
...has COMPLETELY MISSED THE POINT OF THE INTRODUCTION OF THIS CLASS.
It's supposed to be a small, cheap, run what ya brung class. Buy one of the couple approved bikes and show up for some competitive racing among other people on very very similar machines. Stop kurlon-izing it.

CEO: I was praising LRRS for CLOSING THAT LOOPHOLE in this class! I like the rule structure as is pretty much, although I do think Kurtz's machine needs to be allowed something, SS mods maybe?
