Thanks everyone! By request, I am doing a race report.

After a gorgeous Friday and a nice Saturday morning, the rains came about a half an hour before my race, and they came hard. It shortened one race and delayed us for about a half hour until it was safe enough to go back out. I was really looking forward to a dry race as I had some good battles the day before, but instead, I settled for a river in 10 and a pond in 11. I started on 1 A which my least favorite starting position. Oh well.....I had my two biggest competitors next to me so I was ready to go.

The green flag dropped and I got a good jump, then I hit the paint from the Nascar race at the start finish which sent my rear end all over the place. I thought to myself please don't crash on the start. Luckily it straightened out, and I was good to go. Rabbie Demetrious (who is class champion) was right in front of me, and we both got passed by a bike from the Singles class. As we started going through the first few turns, I realized that Rabbie wasn't really getting away to quickly like he normally does. So I stalked him for a few laps. Then at lap four (I think), I was following him into turn (he was about 2.5 seconds ahead), he lost it and went sliding down turn 3. First thought was holy crap, Rabbie crashed. Next though.....oh my gosh I am in first! So I got around him no problem and kept on going.

My parents, who always come to the races, watch from start finish. I came by and my Dad was giving me the slow down hand signal. The bike felt so good though and there was still the 650 ahead of me for first overall. The next time I came around, my Dad was holding his hands far apart telling me I had a huge lead. But there was still that guy ahead of me!

So last lap comes along and although I didn't want to pitch it, I did want to beat this other guy. I gained on him the whole lap and then as we came out of 12, I got a great drive and he didn't. I passed him for first overall. Doesn't mean anything on paper, but I was happy with it!

So not only did I get my first 1st overall, it was also my first win. Thanks Pete for showing up and supporting me It was a great weekend. Now onto Mosport in August...

Actually, as of this year the USCRA is much stricter on belly pans than LRRS/CCS. EVERYTHING has to have one, AND it has to have an absorbant pad lining. No exceptions.
