I retired a helmet this past weekend, and retrieved the (1 day old) eject system from it, which was not deployed (has one ever been deployed at Loudon?)
It was still sticky, but like a dumbass I stuck it to a plastic bag for "safekeeping", but the adhesive was so good that the bag is still stuck to it and the little attached square pulled off.
So while I totally buy into the "don't mess with important safety gear" philosophy, I'm also thinking that all i need is something to keep the bag in place unless and until it's needed - with the caveat that I have to be absolutely sure that it won't eat into the foam shell of the next helmet.
Does anybody have any knowledge in this arena, or am I just out an extra $70 bucks just to be on the safe side? Don't mind paying that, but if there's a way to safely attach it to the next hemet I'd rather not trash it.

Two side tape? Ducttape? Glue?

Most will probably advice you to get a new one. Iv moved mine to 3 helmets total no problem
Foam mounting tape
2 sides with foam in between allows surface to mold for proper contact
As best as possible clean surfaces if on EPS then MAYBE like alcohol would be good (test first)
MOST solvents will dissove EPS INSTANTLY

Best way to stick that thing?
Straight into the garbage.

Just unstick the tape that it's stuck in with and put it in your new helmet. Don't buy a new one.
Honestly, it's like LRRS got some kickback or something from the manufacturer. They make one that the EMT can keep and just slide in the helmet if needed, but instead they made us all buy them. BS.
