I meant super singles. Is that even a class anymore?

So I can't find a single LW machine that went as fast as Shane on a motard (15.5) THIS year...
??
Am I not reading this right?
http://www.nhms.com/documents/2015_lrrs_rulebook.pdf5.5.2.3 Any Amateur who runs times that meet or better 110% of the fastest time (lap record) in a minimum of 5 races over a minimum of two (2) race weekends in the corresponding Expert class may petition for early advancement. Any Amateur who can consistently run times within 110% of the fastest time (lap record) set in the corresponding Expert class may petition for early advancement.

I call bullshit. No motard is competing in the LW class unless it is Sportsman. Maybe that is what he meant? The race typically has 1 - 3 entries and I haven't seen to many motards in LWSS recently. Regardless, Shane set the record in a Motard race which you are riding so I say 21's doesn't work with the math. So submit the paperwork, check the box and then badger them for the ruling. 21's would mean a lap time of 1:14 on a motard which is ludicrous....right now anyway.
I personally don't believe that the times should be a hard line in the sand. Times, finishes, safety record and observed racecraft should all be taken into consideration. I would rather race with a person who is consistent but a bit slower than a reckless faster one. Predictability when the sh$& goes down is key. Times range in the expert class predominately in the 18 - 23 range in good conditions. So an amateur would be expected to bump and be mid pack in an expert race? Put EX on the form if you want and see what happens.
Expert in plate color only...
Not sure about the omission or the reasoning, definitely should be listed. My interpretation of the rules is based on the language that is in the rulebook. Why they wouldn't just list a time is beyond me, they put the disclaimer that if you ride like an idiot, they can refuse your request. That seems like it would be enough flexibility that they wouldn't need to make the time requirements vague as well.
I would say your statement is correct, consistent times in the 1:22.X would mean a 1:22 threshold would be met. Again, the interpretation of these rules can vary depending on the reader with the way they are written. I believe Graham is the man to ask, and bring a bottle of his favorite libation, it could help bolster your position.

I don't disagree with anything you're saying, but they sort of hold the trump card with the "officials reserve the right to deny for any reason" thing. I wouldn't say it's pointless to try to appeal your case, but I certainly would do it as un-passive aggressively as possible - you attract more bees with honey...
I didn't go through every race of every round, but my suspicion is that none of the amateur 'tards met the 1:21 bump threshold for a LW. I would say I've seen Kevin A. at the top of the podium more than others, maybe Lee S. after that. I know SDog and Maxim have beat those guys at times and I believe I have once or twice, although I never managed better than 3rd.
...I just checked some of the results for R7...there was ONE entry in Expert LW Sportsman. One.
Anyways, Like I said, I'm not agitating for a bump unless I can sort out my Unlimited bike (likely to be the nut connecting the handlebars to the seat), but sure wouldn't mind if 3-4 other guys bumped![]()

Ha! Definitely not what I'm implying. I understand completely isaac's process.
There is nothing wrong with sticking AM for a bit, learning more, getting faster, and winning some shit, before you bump. Sure, it can be done to excess, and sure, some people would rather advance as fast as possible to Expert, but to each their own.
Not everyone can be a Kris Hopkins and take home Expert trophies on their second weekend; take wins while you can!

I think MotoGP already called Dave Hemstreet. 16's with all those points and an EX bump in his rookie year - you might not have heard.
Between Cole, Kris and Dave - there was some supremely talented rookies learning their way around Loudon.
