Joel and Cindy drove 36 hours to Loudon from the Chicago area. Was not sure where to post this so please pass along to the correct party.
We just got back from the ASRA weekend at Loudon and had an awesome experience.
We were encouraged not to come because the locals were not friendly, the track too dangerous, the track is too quirky to be competitive on with limited track time and that the track was just weird for a road race course. "They" also said the weather is terrible. Also I was told "the locals would kick your ass up and down". We ignored these comments and came anyway and could not have had a better time.
The locals did kick my butt. I did manage a 3rd in ASRA Thunderbike though. The staff at the track was great and the local racers were more than helpful. The track was a challenge and I am sure it would take years to master the course but I feel my riding improved because of my time there. The weather was not bad either.
Looking forward to coming back next year and bringing a few follow racers along with me.
Thank you,
Joel & Cindy Spalding

Wow. I wonder how we got stuck with such a bad rep??
Regardless, that's awesome these folks had a good time over the weekend. Hopefully they'll be able to clear the air about how aweful us northeasterners are...

They probably see that we nickname our fellow riders "butcher" etc, that may have something to do with it...![]()

word travels fast about street thugs like the "butcher" Bergs and Richie "dollar bill" Pittenger.
I saw them at the trophy thing and let them know it was cool they came out and mentioned my girl is from their neck of the woods in IL.

They wandered over into our garage on Saturday. We chatted with them for a little while and talked about the track and fast guys set-ups etc. Real nice people and would enjoy having them come back.

They're awesome people, I garaged right next to them in Daytona last year and was excited to see them come up and race Loudon. Glad they had such a good time!
awesome review! I am glad that they are on "Our" side to help dispel our bad rep.
Looking foreward to them back next year!

I always wonder why the northeast gets such a reputation for being unfriendly. not jsut at the track. my sister-in-law is from wisconsin, lived in oklahoma for a while, then came to NH with the knowledge that the people here are "unfriendly and rude". she said that this description was the total opposite of what she experienced (obviously, she met my brother, her husband, here) and people don't know what they are talking about.
anyway, glad they had such a good experience, hopefully they will share the good word and we will become a mecca for non-local racers as well as locals. especially when we get our new track![]()
