ok as much as I want to sell you all my GS parts (fron chads old built bike) I gotta agree... You should sell that GS and get an EX or even a Hawk.
How much did you pay for the GS?
I could buy it and sell it with all my spare parts to a streetrider...

The GS is essentially free as long as I'm going to be racing it, otherwise the owner is going to retain it. Reselling isn't an option.
what a brutal picture lol
another thing to consider (if you ever do plan to take racing at LRRS more seriously) is your index as a novice. If you go and come in last in a number of races, you'll have a hell of a time getting your index up high enough to bump up down the road.
i'm a big advocate of RACERS racing, and TRACK RIDERS doing track days. It just works out better for everyone, on both sides of that fence. Racing is meant to be competitive, and its more expensive (from my experience) than track days. I couldn't imagine going out to race without trying to win, and doing whatever i can to build the bike, and learn to ride it in a way that will give me the best shot at achieving that. Theres nothing wrong with either at all....its just scary for the fast novices when someone is out there running 2:00 lap times, and you're lapping them with 60mph closing speeds.
just a thought.
(and yes i ninja edited the shit out of this haha)

Does your index reset at the start of a new season?

Good luck fellas, give em hell! Be prepared to move up to an EX in 2009.

wow what i read:
guy asks for advice from people with experience
guy receives advice from people with experience
guy rejects advice from people with experience and explains why they're wrong
guy wants to do what he wants to do and should never have asked for advice
geesh![]()
Come on Doc, looks aren't everything....you've seen Buddha!![]()
I asked, got advice, weighed it against my particular circumstances and what was available to me and came to a decision. Just because I didn't follow the exact path laid out for me as the 'one true way' doesn't mean I didn't grok it.
And while that is a killer GS build... I'm not going there, this is supposed to be cheap racing, he's got more into that head than I'll spend prepping my GS and my first season of expenses. I got the GS on the cheap, and as long as the race prep continues on the cheap it's what I'll race.
Edit: Thanks for stirring the pot Doc...
