So Ive got a duc for a track bike all set up. Its currently got stcok bodywork on it, which If I wanted to rteplace with OEM stuff at any time would be very expensive, probably 4 grand for all of it?? Not exactly sure. So I want to protect it.
So far I have 2 options and IM looking for advice....
1. Go with a sharkskinz set, for all the pieces with the 15% off sale would be 950, plus painting, probably 3-500 for a decent looking job. Total probably about 1500 with shipping blah blah. Seems like a lot of coin for track plastics, but thats the story.
1a. Find a cheaper body kit like an ABS set or armour bodies, hot bodies, eracing etc.
2. There are stock plasctics for sale on ducati.ms for 1000. That would not include the fender or tail, but I figure I can leave my stock fender on and I can hit ebay for a tail over the next few months. I figure this will probably cost a abit less maybe 1300 or so.
Does the sharkskinz crash/repair better in the event I should need to?

Ehh they're track plastics, better to go cheap than prettyEspecially if you are going to save the oems, then you can just throw those back on when/if you ever sell it.
Supa Motarded! If you see me backin it in, keep watching...Im about to crash

track plastics from my experience thus far...you get what you pay for. Basically what you'll get with sharkskinz over other brands would be crashability and a good fit. In that aspect its your choice, I went for the higher end stuff because I have this annoying crashing habit that I've learned to prepare for....
They'll all look fine but if you spend say $500 on a set and you end up going down, they're beyond repair...then you're back to square one.
Sharkskinz are very flexible and can be glassed/repaired easily. Hotbodies are also pretty good.
Is this for an SS? I have a tail that I will sell ya.

Found these guys while looking for 929 stuff.

DIY bodywork installation
Just got good comments yesterday from one of Hobbs' guys, says that the fit is excellent with no adjustments needed, and is the best bodywork he's dealt with.
I've only seen the ZX6 bodywork need very minor trimming along the left main frame spar to get a "perfect fit", but all other bodywork I've sold (CBR, GSXR, 999, R6) has fit perfectly with no reported issues whatsoever. And I know they are working on the ZX6 bodywork to correct the issue.
On other forums, the guys have bought this stuff have had an overwhelmingly positive response to it, so I don't know what you've "heard", but......As a matter of fact, I just got another order this morning.
Is it going to bounce right back in a crash with no damage as if nothing happend? No, but then again, neither will my $1300 Armourbodies, or my $900 Sharkskinz or any other set on the market. And I know I'd rather be replacing a $350 set if needed rather than a $900 set.![]()
If you spend any real amount of time on the track, you will eventually go down. The only question is: "How much do you want it hurt?"

I don't yet know how well it crashes, but its so cheap to purchase various sections I'm not worry about that

You guys know anything about the $250 jobbies on eBay?
These
Well searching ebay I ended up fiding these. They are the Factory Ducati race kit. Total with the tail retails for roughly 2 grand. I got em for 950 plus shipping, which I think is a great price. It also includes the fairing stay/brace which is a pricey pert I would have had to add onto any other kit I bought. These are fully finished etc.

I have been looking at bodywork for a long while now. I'm wondering if trying to grab a used but in good shape set of sharkskinz, catalyst composites, etc bodywork off a forum member here or elsewhere might be a better bang-for-the-buck than the eracings or buying the nice ones straight out.

I installed a few kits now of the e-racing stuff, it is very flexable and the fit was perfect. For 350 bucks, it is the best for the money.
this E-Racing body work you guys speak off - i did a search and cant find a website......help?
i found a full kit for my bike with Attack but they're not pre drilled which is annoying.
If you can't race it or take it to bed.....it's not worth having.
