Rossi is fucked. He will be nowhere on the 'stones.
A very foolish move. Pedrosa on Michelin came in second in the points. Rossi has years of experience on Michelin, and knows all the people. He now has to build new relationships, and learn a new tire. Its gonna be tough.
And - the Yamaha is no Ducati. Stoner, Duc and Bridgestone was the perfect combo this year. Nothing was going to stop them.
Yamaha must build a better bike for Rossi to regain his past glory.

The grass is always greener. I don't think the difference in tires is that significant. I think It was a little of everything. The duc was the by far the fastest bike for half the season, and Stoner rode it very well, and it's electronics seem to look after the tires well, etc.etc. Did I mention Stoner rode very well?!
I remember him having a lot of issues with the michelin last year. I haven't had much time to keep up with the racing this year. Since he's making the change I'd have to say he probably has a good idea what he's doing.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
Let's face it, in initial development, due to the rule changes the bridgestones were head and shoulders above michelin. They gained ground, much like the honda gained ground on ducati, it was never enough. With the Yamaha never really getting close to the ducati and his michelins not performing, Rossi had his hands full...So why wouldnt he try to change?
The one thing that bothers me is all this talk about how great ducati & stones were... Stoner looked like you could have put him out there on a vespa - the man was possessed and rode the wheels off! I'm a big Rossi fan but god damn Stoner was unbeatable!!!

Colin was there because he was not going to beat Rossi, a team player and a nice guy.
The exact opposite of someone like Pedrosa.
