I knew this before from my Drunkathon and trackday experiences but I just had to let you all know after my first race weekend.
It was great being surrounded by such a great group! I now know the camraderie of the racer culture and it is just priceless.
My pit mates were excellent, everyone helped each other to make bike changes and learn the ropes and such, Special thanks to Scott, Brian, Gino, Chris, Lauren, Ryan and the Panamania Prince Erasamo plus the signifigant others and people who stopped into our pit area. Just Awesome!
Wanna give a shout out to Mabe, DNF, Cheap Bastids and Low Down racing teams. It was great seeing you guys at and on the track (Although I hated seeing Clayton and Pete's Crash) It was nice to get passed by people I knew that run in my classes... It was also nice passing some of you (Cough, Unclefucker, cough)
As for my racing... well I didn't stall on any of my starts and actually think I did well there... Freaky thing going into one and getting passed by ALL the motards grided BEHIND you.I had a mantra while I was racing, "Just stay on your line, just stay on your line"
I finished all my races...Even when Puppet threw his bike at me coming out of turn 2 to try to take me out(glad your ok man!). I think I placed 18th out of 27, 15 out of 17 in my class, 12th out of 15, 5th out 0f 6 in my class and 8th out of 12, 3rd in my class. The 3rd sounds good but there were only 3 guys in the race
So I was last in one race and 2nd and 3rd to last in my other races
Leaves ALOT of room for improvement.
My best lap time was a 1:33 on saturday in the dry and it felt great! I just have to remember that feeling and repeat that and I will be up in the top 10 in that race.My fastest laps were faster than 2 or 3 guys ahead of me fastest laps, If I can just get consistent... I'll get there
I learned a ton in the pits, cornerworking and on the track. Thanks to all the contributed in my learning... Now if you all could just put your screen names on your leathers or bike...I am so bad with names.
One more thing... I am SO glad to hear that Silverdragon is bumping! He was making us Novices look silly! Congrats man!

Hey Doc, I hear ya about getting passed by the people gridded behind you, happens to me more than I care to admit!
Sorry about tapping you on your shoulder when I introduced myself on Saturday. I didn't know you had a trackday injury! Congrats on the first weekend success! 1:33s ain't bad your first time out!
Mongoose, I THOUGHT your bike/number looked familiar. I got by you in the NV GT race on sunday. I saw the number and thought, "Is that somebody I know? hmm cant recall". I was on the little red 2 stroke. #427 I'll introduce myself next race weekend.

Sorry I didn't get to meet you Doc. I had lots of time on Saturday, but Sunday was hella busy. Next time I'll come up and introduce myself. Congrats on your time, and thanks for cornerworking! See you up there in May?
They should call Production Twins what it really is, Shitty McBikefest. Rules for Participation: If your bike runs lower laptimes than a lawnmower, you are not eligibile for Shitty McBikefest. -Darrell

DOOD!!! I saw you packing up Friday and I was like... Huh, he must have a race sunday... Never saw you again... Maybe you should race a Hawk...
I hope you get that 2 stroke working right soon. They made an announcement at the riders meeting friday to search out the veterans on the 125's and 250's for help or if someone was looking to get into the game....![]()

yeah, pop's buell clutch stopped functioning and the bike blew a diode, killing the ignition circuit all at the same time. a banged myself up pretty good add that to the crappy weather and both me and pops were ready for our own beds.
race a hawk? aww come on, i was just starting to get close on the NSR. not sure if we can make May financially but we'll be back in no time, either way.
