No, Degsy knows I'm just bustin on him. We had lots of good times in the NESR pits back in the 2002-2004 timeframe. Spence and I spent many a weekend changing tires back and forth. "Guys, put the rains on, no put the DOTs back on, no, let's go with the rains..." At least I got to work on my safety wire skills.
And Greg...notice the spiffy "NESR RACING" banner behind Beth, made from that fine Contender Sailcloth? That's good stuff I tell ya...
A pretty bike? With novice plates on it? Sounds like every new racer I've ever met. Certainly was a trick looking bike too man.
They should call Production Twins what it really is, Shitty McBikefest. Rules for Participation: If your bike runs lower laptimes than a lawnmower, you are not eligibile for Shitty McBikefest. -Darrell

Nope not Novice. Junior.. Thats how it was back in them days. The Novice were called amateur and there was a Junior Expert class that ran with the experts like the amateurs do now.
I remember being up till 3 or 4 in the am helping Mike (collision pro) and Degs put together bikes. Mike didn't know how to paint till after midnight

Yeah, I was only doing 19's on it then. Not bad for a newbie racer huh? That was back when you didn't go home with 8 trophies in a weekend for doing 1:22s.
Actually, that was my 3rd race bike. I spent all winter getting her that nice (with the help of a few people). She looked that good as an expert bike, too....for a while.
Ah, nice of them to tell us about the 15 minute 'holding' time on hot pit for FUSA, huh? Typical, just typical.
No tire warmers for 15 minutes + running 5th behind Wood, Wood, Barnes, Greenwood (all within 3 seconds of each other) = turn 2 safety fence. Pissed isn't the word.
BURN!

Daytona was a lot of fun.
I know I'll never be forgiven for the room I ended up getting for us. The pictures made it look so big, but hey, it was free. We won't mention who had to sleep together on the pull out couch. The whole peanut incident really sucked...
A good shot of the team:

I remember working on that bike with you...Great times! Honestly though that Daytona weekend was prob. one of the funnest and best times of my life and what made it better was sharing those times with great people.

This thread got me thinking...
I remember I was a Jr. in high school and I was sitting in science class waiting for the day to get over so I could meet up with Degsy to fly to Daytona...I remember I had to get all my assignments from my teachers because I was gonna miss a few days of school and when all you guys went to the bar I was stuck at the room doing homework haha
I remember Degsy asking Gordon if he wanted hazelnut coffee after the peanut incident and we couldnt really tell if Gordon was pissed or not cuz his face was swollen shut
Daytona was also my first encounter to Krispy Kreme where we bought like 5 dozen donuts for 5 people lol.
Damnit now im miserable![]()
