If you look at the lap and the leader board, it is a SPOILER... But SICK skills, seriously seriously sick.

The most amazing thing is how he gives back a gear in the middle of it all.
Great slo-mo
The riders control it on purpose, but it's not the fastest or safest way around the track it just shows that the edge of traction has been exceeded.
Since that happened at the end of the race the tires were probably a little greasy.
It is not ussually so pronounced as it is in that video, which is what makes it such a great video.
That was amazing...just watched the race.
Can someone explain WTF happened to Lorenzo? It looked to me as though he regained control after clipping Hayden...not sure if he locked the front breaking, or his bike was damaged when he clipped Hayden and that caused it. Thoughts?

Makes me miss Gary McCoy. He was a lot of fun to watch.
Casey definitely put on a great show.

Sick!
I personally don't think they do that on purpose. At some entry speed when you force the bike to turn, it will try to continue going straight which is what happened there IMO. the slide will slow the bike a little til it hooks up and turns.
If you can find that magical entry speed every time, I guess you could say it was intentional, but it's more a result than a technique. I could do it in T2 at loudon when I was really in the zone, but I doubt the slide was even visible to onlookers.
Watching Casey was jaw-dropping btw! I'm stioked that he's back. All Rossi could do was sit back and watch. I bet he was thinking, "well, there's not much I can do about that!"

I could do it on purpose in one turn racing indoors on minis... I used it as my gauge that I got on the gas early/hard enough. Plus, with a 4' wheelbase, swinging the ass end out while trying to hold a tight line let me block off all attempts to get around me in that turn.![]()
