I have the tool, and the drill bits, and the wire. How do you actually drill the hole it seems to me that the drill bit would want to "walk" before actually biting into the bolt head.
Do you guys remove the bolts before drilling or what.
Any help is appreciated.
It will...
I've never used the tool...
I remove them if possible. You'll want to get a good automatic center punch. It will make the whole process so much easier. Use the center punch to put a punch mark exactly where you want the hole and then drill away. The punch mark gives the bit something to bite into.
The easiest way I've found to drill these holes is with a milling machine. You have a mill, right?![]()
get band-aids, lots of band-aids.
i try to remove what ever i can and atleast put it in a vice. drill press is better but who has one of those. somethings can be drilled in place pretty easily though. to be fair though i did spend 4 years of my life saftey wiring aircraft together so i like to think i'm better than average at it...lol.
I am just glad all my bolts were pre drilled!
Nice when you buy a race bike.![]()

Dude, mail those bitches to me... I bought a drill press for this purpose only.
Or, if you're afraid your bike might fall apart, I can send you a set of gixxer bolts drilled, and u send your stockers back... but I dont want schwag stripped bolts back haha.
The list you'll need to send me:
4 header bolts (I do 2 on left side together, 2 on right side together)
4 pinch bolts
front axle bolt
4 front caliper bolts
1 rear caliper bolt
Exhaust bolt and nut on exhaust bracket
rad cap & oil fill cap u can do
drain plug & one bolt from oil pan
one bolt from right side cover (one nearest oil fill cap)
thats how u get it to come out looking clean. or u can come use my press... up to you.
That would be sweet and defintely rewarded with your choice of alcoholic beverage the first weekend next year..... or dinner if your rather eat than drink. Ill have to gather these guys up and get them down to you. Thanks.
