This probably qualifies as thread necromancy, but I have to say... its more fun than that article makes it sound. I learned a lotKitt was awesome about explaining things to me and he has a WORLD CLASS pit chick who also taught me quite a bit

My wife was great about wanting to get involved as much as possible for the first race weekend. She was helpful setting up the pit area, and always wanted to work the stands, but that weekend we didn't bring the kids. The past 4 weekends we brought the 3 kids, a four year old, a 2 year old and a 4 month old. I noticed last weekend that she was not having a good time at all. The two older ones were acting up all day, and the baby did not sleep and was freaking out all day. We had desided that the baby will stay with family for the rest of the season and that will ease the stress off of her.
I do not want to go to the track alone, and I don't want my wife to dread going with me. She is very out going, and I think that she would have fun hanging out with other ladies with families.
helping out in the pits sounds like fun...idk how good at putting up tents i would be though... lol

Did you actually see the tent? It was comical. Wish I'd taken a picture! I hope the people around us weren't too pissed that there were 4 drunks stumbling around and giggling trying to put the tent up.
Pop-up is where its at! I bought a new one that takes about 2 minutes to put up and sleeps 7 (or so they say, think that might be 7 midgets or anorexics). I also got another queen sized air mattress, you can fit 2 in there with room to walk. This time I'm setting it up Saturday morning.

For anyone looking for practice to becoming a full on race weekend pit chick, you could always get a start at a trackday... Most of the same concepts apply, probably a lower stress environment.![]()

LOL... Personally, if I could get the time off from work, I'd be riding, not pit bitching, at a track day. Unfortunately for me, my gall bladder decided to shit the bed in January and I used all of my sick and vacation time
You're right though, that's probably a great place to learn.

Next race weekend have her (and your fam)stop by and introduce yourselves (484 over by the bathrooms) I would love to meet other nesra pit bitches who do it all for their "others".
We have the passion just as much but lack the balls (some of us) to go out there.well, I guess I should only speak for me? yes I am chicken.
