Bryan Paquette (Dunlop tire crew and racer) was fatally injured in turn 3 during practice Friday morning. Brian died of internal injuries/bleeding at the hospital.
derek
Please consider Brian's family in your thoughts and prayers. Anyone who knew him, knows that he was a great down-to-earth kind of guy who was always willing to offer advice on tires and racing, he was real fast around NHIS.
I spoke to a friend of mine who was close to Brian, this morning. We will start a collection to go to his family. Anyone who may be intersted in contributing, please respond here or PM me.
Godspeed, Brian.

I think that Roger of RJs in Nashua will be organizing a benefit of some sort. If nothing else, you may make a donation at Roger's shop and rest assured that ALL he collects will go to Brians' family.
My thoughs and prayers go out to Bryan, his family, friends and loved ones...R.I.P to a fallen brother...
Best wishes to his family.

Heres a condom. I figured since youre acting like a dick, you should dress like one too.
Yeah, this is horrible news. I only knew Bryan in passing, but he was a helluva nice guy, always willing to answer my incessant questions.
I found out about this tragedy on Sunday while I was watching AMA racing. Whoever it is that runs the Kawasaki team dedicated their race to him after they won. I was shocked when they announced this and had to rewind a few times to make sure I was actually hearing what I heard...
It is indeed a sad day.
But when we ride very fast motorcycles, we ride with immaculate sanity. We might abuse a substance here and there, but only when it's right. The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. If you go slow and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.
Bryan Paquette was a truly good guy. He worked for Dunlop and painted racebikes for a living. I was his last customer. I trashed my bodywork at the national and he fixed/painted it for me. I shook his hand and thanked him for doing a great job on my bike just before he went out in practice. As usual, he was all smiles. His son was there and he looked proud of his dad's work.
Bryan raced in the 70s and was getting back into it this year. He was putting fresh pads on the bike and got distracted. He was a busy guy at the track. I don't think he even put the pins in, let alone the safety clips. All four pads fell out and he went into T3 on his 996 with nothing to slow him. There is a gap between the walls for just such an occurrence. The tire barriers are there to prevent you from careening into traffic in T10. Well, at that speed, Bryan was launched clear over the barriers and his bike followed closely behind. It hit him, and that was it. I'm stunned and deeply saddened.

My prayers go out to the family and Bryan....RIP
RIP and Godspeed Bryan
