I can't wait for the first Friday of the Rookie Races.
I heard there's a guy who will be riding in it with an R6 that can spin 'em up in 6th gear all the way down the straight. With that kind of raw talent I think we'll be seeing a track record set in the first-ever Friday Rookie Race.
Do I hear 0:59 anyone?

78 Days , hmm maybe ill work on the bike this weekend? naa got 70 good days left to start that
HaHa, I don't think I'll even respond to the tire-spinning comment... that original statement got all distorted and I've learned not to let that piss me off anymore! The forum is something new to me, as is the skeptical attitudes and well, the poor responses to my joking. As the time draws nearer to the start of the season, I'm getting more serious and not looking to rile people up on the forum. I'll be seeking advice and acting more like a novice racer who is learning from the more experienced guys. This place has been a trip, and it's all been part of my new adventure into roadracing. Whether you think I'm a squid talking out my ass, or you are an atheist homo looking for a debate, or just a plain nice guy willing to help out a newcomer to the track, I appreciate it, it's been fun. As for my lap times this season, I'm gonna say knowing myself and my dedication to this sport, they will be good novice lap times, and will improve steadily over the course of the season.

Personally I feel you are over confident and need to stop "acting more like a novice racer" and actually do it.
I hope that the forum makes you come across completely different than you are in real life but I somehow doubt it.
I don't think you are a squid or even a bad guy. I think you have a very competative streak and you are a very driven individual. You do not believe in failure.
What some of us are trying to point out to you is that you are 32, you will never get an AMA ride, this is a CLUB sport, RELAX.
Think of it like a local bowling league and take it down a notch. The last thing we want is another new guy racing like he wants to be riding AMA when he is only a novice. (racing too close, cutting people of and generally being an ass)
Learn your race craft and have FUN. Do not let your competative streak rule your head.
I ride a little bike and run top 10 in my races. I have a BLAST even if I am not reaching the podium.
I won't be around much this season but feel free to look me up when I am at the track (or better yet do a BOMO trackday). Good Luck B.

I hear you Doc, no really I do! My intentions have never been to get an AMA ride, but just to get off the street where I was pushing it too hard and to take part in a sport that I love. I think my defensive attitude on here came into play after some guys assumed I'd be an ass and a danger on the track just because I never raced before. I do have some competetiveness left in my 32 year old brain, but it is all healthy and my main goal is to stay safe and have fun. If there was one thing I could get across on this forum, it is that people can relax, I'm not going to ride like an ass and cut people off or try to impress with dangerous riding. That, and in person I am actually a pretty quiet and decent guy. Sometimes I just have a hard time taking people on the internet seriously and that can lead to me saying stupid shit off the top of my head, which in hind sight has been kind of a mistake, but I've tried to make it clear that what I've said on this forum is in no way related to how I will conduct myself at the track.

It is very smart of you to "take it to the track". Hopefully you can mentor other people you know who may need to do the same. I wish I would have gotten to the track earlier in life, then I may not have done half the stupid shit I did when I was younger.
Assumptions were made and you claim they were wrong. It wasn't because you had never raced. It was because of the way you came across. The internet makes that hard sometimes. You mean to come across as joking and everyone takes you seriously or vice versa. No worries.
As Pete said. Good luck out there. I am sure many of us will be happy to help you out if you ask.
I think you are aware that you have already gained a rep in the LRRS scene. We will be watching.![]()

as I continue to pile up the snow in the back yard to get to the wood pile. Most recently 15" I am wondering if I an even going to make any April events. I have 4' of snow and mothefuckingice blanketing the entire back yard.
Especially now that is is starting earlier.

I hope you know that my joking about the rookie race is partially intended to rile you up but to also throw some reality at you. and while we will both be completely new to racing you're still very new to the track while I've had 4 years of slow learning and experience.
and this is the attitude I want to see when we're both on track at the same time. I'm there to have fun and I hope everyone else is so no one does anything dumb to get anyone else hurt.
