I was kind of hoping the riders in the rookie race would be like the guys in my Penguin school:wink:

Yeah I see your point about the race, and I'm not saying that winning it means riding over yer head to get the win. In a 3 lap sprint you get a good start and ride consistent and as long as noone's a returning veteran we'll have a good result. Win or lose, the weekend is going to be fun as hell!

Anybike can run in the rookie race so you are not riding against people with equal machines.

You line up on your Superbike spec 600 vs a couple ex500's and a Heavyweight 1000... Where is the "skill" in that win?

It is only 3 laps. It is meant to show you know what you are doing on the track. I just wish they would enforce the "if you crash you don't get your license rule" then maybe people wouldn't think of it as a race.

I heard rumor they are giving plaques for the rookie race now though... :doh:

You primary goal should be to ride safe, clean and fast. In that order. Then concentrate on getting a good index for the next 10 races so you can bump.

Hell when I started (not that long ago) it was said you were not a real "racer" until you were an Expert at least. :dunno:
