So there was this guy in a few of the NV LW classes who appeared to be a dirt track racer due to his body position. One bad thing about being near this guy is that he looked like he was going to crash EVERY SECOND. He would toss the bike in from the top side and bang hard parts, rear tire would kick a little, he'd stand it up, repeat. He was on an old Duc and he was wearing blue and green leathers. I went to check results and I couldnt help but stop to ask him if he used to race dirt track. He said nope, never raced before. I said 'wow, umm, you have kind of a dirt track style'.. then I continued on. NV 383.. if you see this bike, pass it on the INSIDE, and be careful, I think he's just a huge hazard. A highside waiting to happen.

also, I asked him if he was hitting the rear brake, and he said no. That means either the hard parts or the tire being unloaded by said hard parts and skipping was making the noise I think KB and Gino mentioned hearing. Errrrrrrrrp!

There was a guy on a rental duc that crashed everywhere. Is that who your talking about?
They should call Production Twins what it really is, Shitty McBikefest. Rules for Participation: If your bike runs lower laptimes than a lawnmower, you are not eligibile for Shitty McBikefest. -Darrell

Oh Yeah evreytime I set him up To pass Has back end would go back and forth. and I would soil my leather(just a little) He said it was beacause the rental duc had bad tires. I really thought We were going to die. I got him on the breaks going into 1.
I give him props for staying upright.
Alex, I dont think the guy crashed at all all weekend, and it amazes me.
Mongoose, for sure. I went to go around him in 2, saw his shit start to fishtail and then decided to wait.. I got him on the inside of the entrance to 9, right as you stand the bike upright.. I figure there isnt any way to drag hard parts and highside when you're straight up and down.. lol.

Oh no. He crashed a bunch. Trust me, that guy was a total hazard, and rode the bike like he stole it. Smooth was not in his vocabulary as he jerked the bike around. We all tried to get away from him as fast as possible whenever we we're out there.
I don't think he was a dirt-tracker. I just think he didn't listen to a single word the instructors (and other racers) we're saying.

The guy was putting his FOOT DOWN in turn 2. Yeah, on a Ducati SS. Uhhhh.....
He was forcing the bike down into the corners while trying to keep his body completely upright. It was painful to watch.

careful thats where he clipped someones front wheel in the rookie race and took him out.
You should have seen him on friday at the penguin school on his R1!!!!
We did notice him in some race on sunday, cant recall which... he went by for the warmup lap... and never made it to pre-grid... he's bad news. i dont know how he got a racing license?

yeah, he would throw a foot out in 2.

Agreed. Complete failure of the penguin school in that regard. He stayed upright, but was an absolute hazard to everyone on the track.
I remember watching for him in one race, and when he didn't come around we all laughed. Its bad news when you can't even do the warm-up lap. That poor rental duc.

wait, the kid on the rental duc was the same as the guy on the R1? I don't think so... a rental duc and R1 were both at the school on friday, the rental duc went down in turn 1....
I thought the guy who went off in the rookie race went into turn 9 too hot, and just ran off... that guy was on a 650R i think, and his chain was wayyy to loose.
what kind of ass hat crashes on the warm up lap??

The R1 guy on friday (i thought there were 2 R1's in the class) switched to a rental duc for the weekend.
In the rookie race, he took a wide line entering 9 and then cut down abruptly, and got the edge of the guy on the ex650's tire when he was went to pass him on the inside. The guy on the 650 was taking good lines and moving along smoothly. maybe a little too quick for his skill level, but he looked like he had a good idea of how to ride.

That's bullshit. The guy was a MX'er according to Jackie at the Penguin School. He wadded up one of their bikes mid-way thru the Sunday and wouldn't let him go back out unless he ponied up some non-refundable money.
Dude was a HORROR SHOW. I watched him a bunch and in all the years I've been going up there watching / racing / hanging out I've never seen such a bad rider. He was riding it like a motard (pushing bike down under him).
He was on a R1 on Friday, where while he wasn't the hottest rider, he was competent enough to pass the course. Then he got on the rental bike, in a race, and turned into Captain Insano. That's no longer Penguin's guy as soon as Friday is over, it's LRRS's.
I could see him CHARGING out in the races trying to battle with people when he couldn't even ride the bike. He kept putting his foot down in Turn 2 because he was hitting the inside curbing btw.
If you are a novice and you see that guy... good luck to you!

lol, and yes i am the type of ass hat that crashes on the warm up lap. apparently twenty some odd pounds of pressure in rain tires your first time on the track in the rain and on rain tires is a bad idea. best part is..... i still made it to grid up, crashed in the same place on lap 4 of the race. coming into t3, my brother said the crashes looked identical. lesson learned.

Kenny Irons, Kevin Schwantz's first teammate when he went GP racing. He actually died in a crash on the warm up lap at a British National.
If somebody poses a real hazard out on the track, let Jerry Wood know about it so he can have a talk with them. Discussing it here after the fact doesn't solve the problem.

Have to chime in because I saw this asshat as well, right in front of me in turn six, stuufed me up the inside and waggled that duck ass at me all the way into 9, I decided I didn't need to follow him around and let him go (well actually he was riding faster than me but i digress)
I also saw his line when I was corner working 12, If he wasn't a flat tracker he is channeling one, I swear it was foot out coming out of twelve as well.
Poor Duc.
