Re: Current Track Configuration for Turn 1-2

Just a word to the wise - don't be late to your race - there is no starting from hot pit because well, theres no way to enter from hot pit!

Pit out will occur at end of hot pit at turn 11 - making a u-turn - so I'm told...

    best,

    Denno

To be honest, this is just about what I expected... and it's as good as you can make if you give up the normal Pit Out.

It's now up to each racer to decide for themselves.

Question? Do they still drop a race or is that gone?

Well... it's pretty early in the year.

If it was later, and I was in a championship battle... I would go to my fellow competitors (meaning those in 1, 2, and 3) and look for a gentleman's agreement where we all drop this race.

Being early in the year... this could make or break a championship year.

I don't think injuries will be the concern.

I do think many of the blue airfences will get "nudged" by shoulders. This is not dangerous, but it gives the rider(s) behind the nudge an advantage until it's corrected.

what wont be fun is coming into that chicane and meeting a downed section of soft barrier

Looks like I picked the wrong day to stop sniffing glue.

But I picked the right year to pick up a motard.

Last chicane is what prevents injuries in Turn 3

dont take this the wrong way but it looks to me the injuries would just happen sooner, but i do see the reasoning for slowing everyone down for 3

The starts might get a bit hairy if there are more then a couple people on the grid. Guess Ill run practice on Saturday and then decide what I want to do.

When you go skipping into 3 without your bike youll understand why. I was doing over 100 last week when I got clipped. I slid all the way down the shoot to where the grass patch ends and my bike buried itself in the last tire wall all the way to the tank. I dont really want to enter it any faster.

That'd be me... this will be my 2nd weekend. I don't care, racing is better than not racing. I'm in. Let the good times roll and such.

Re: Current Track Configuration for Turn 1-2

This new configuration will only help you work on brakes. You will realize actually how much you will be able to brake much later and deeper when the old configuration returns. Focus one you break markers and how hard you are breaking before the first chicane. I learned a lot just for the track day even thought there was no 4….3….2…..1 on the fence. I actually think not having these made me break much later.

    can't wait to see this...

Layout-wise it looks ok... Hopefully cones/barriers getting knocked into the line won't become a big problem. Given the circumstances I can't imagine a much better solution.

hmm... could you be referring to when you used your bike as a recreational toy and stuck it in the tire wall like a lawn dart? I remember you praising your chest/back protector after that one.

Haha... lawn dart. What a visual

If by "lawn dart" you mean "bunker buster" then yeah, I think you're right

i was up there yesterday...they put 3 electric boxes and a transformer right in the middle of pit out by the T1a gate. i dont know if we will ever get T1/1a back. they will have to put up some barriers or something at those boxes.
cell pic taken from pit out in front of T1a gate
