After the snowstormed fucked my original flight I'm finally on the road. Currently sitting in Philly waiting for my connecting flight to Orlando, then a shuttle from Orlando to Daytona Beach (rest of team got in yesterday, like I was supposed to, so shuttle for me now)
Anyway I'll be providing live updates on the Michael Jordan Motorsports teams via Twitter which posts to both our new www.23race.com site and also to www.twitter.com/23race . You might also see some photos up on our Facebook page - http://www.facebook.com/pages/Michae...ts/51748732097
I'll try and swing by NESR and this thread as often as possible to give the more 'non MJM' updates and let you know the scoop on our local guys.

Nothing fancy to report from today. Had a horrible day of travel, shuttle buses, lost baggage, etc. Finally got to the track 15 minutes before they shut down the garages and it was fucking FREEZING. 50 degrees and that's pretty god damn cold in Florida. I did take quick walk and some impressions
- The R1 sounds NASTY
- The Aprillia looks NASTY
- The new National Guard hauler is sick
- There are more bikes around than I expected (esp for Tuesday)
- More vendors than I expected (in light of economy)
- Went to dinner with a AMA Official. Was interesting to hear about the new rules and stuff straight from them
- My roommate Jason Pridmore is pretty damn nice fellow

bike looks awesome this year, congrats on your new profession
2006 Red Triumph Daytona 675
I took a ride through the infield tonight before everything shut down and it was really windy as well as being cold. We drove around tonight in the cage and while it seemed to be 5 degrees warmer on the ocean side there really wasnt a ton of bikes out. Main street still looked like it was packed but otherwise not much going on. I took a couple pics of the National Guard bike you guys have out by the trailer near the missile launcher humvee lol Looked pretty nice as well![]()

I have arrived!!! Well 6 hours away but I am right on the beach.
Was 55 today, cruising in the rental convertible...
Have I thanked you taxpayers lately?
Still debating driving 6 hours to Daytona, watch the race, buy Alex and Jason and Lou a beer and find a place to crash then drive 6 hours back...![]()

Lou doesn't drink..?
Promise to get me back to my car safe and sound and I think you have a deal. I promise I won't drive.
(Staying in a tent in this weather does not sound appealing)
OR find me a ok/cheap motel to crash for the night somewhere near there. I have NO clue where i should be looking.

1 other thought. a twitter setup for jeff & eric would be pretty kickass too. esp if it lasted through the season.

2012 Ducati Streetfighter 848 (retarded fun)
k it's late and i'm bushed but here's what went down today:
Loudon guys
Scotty (Greenwood) had a hilarious crash today in Practice 2. Yates came up the inside of him and lowsided, his #23 Jordan Suzuki (oh the irony) sliding into and under Scott's bike as Scott was going thru the turn. Scott falls ON TOP of Yate's bike and is laying on it sliding about 3-4'. Scott's tires dug in thou, popped him upright, and he rode away!! He rode off the track, stopped in the grass, looked back at Yates (who fell), waved, and kept going. LOLZ. Awesome.
Jeff's bike is awesome. It's Blake Young's 2008 M4 "A" bike. Jeff said it's the fastest thing he's ridden! He blew by Josh Hayes on the straight in Practice 1 and could keep up with Pegram's rocketship Ducati pretty well. Problem is he was handed the bike yesterday and never threw a leg over it till this morning in Practice 1. The bike is setup ALL WRONG for Jeff. Practice 1 was a joke and Practice 2, while better (dropped 1.5 seconds) was still a huge struggle. He's pulled the entire front end off to try and get the forks dialed in but overall it's alot of work for Jeff to sort out in one more 30 minute session. He's doing mid-41's now and REALLY wants to get back to the 39's. 39's put him in the Top 8... he did 39's last year on a stock GSXR1000 in the Superstock AMA race. So he CAN do it, but it all depends on if it's handling right tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed.
Eric and Shane are riding hard, but their bikes are down in power and with the huge banking it's just eating them up.
Other
The Aprillia's, while looking good, aren't going good. Chaz is mid 20's and Benny T around 30th last I looked. Don't think they are happy. Steve Rapp's Aprillia team is a joke. I've seen Novices with better setups. It's two bikes and a folding table. That's IT. The 'mechanics' showed up at lilke 11am this morning and were spraypainting numbers on the bike. Steve walked from the team after Practice 2...
I didn't watch much Daytona Sportbike but Eslick's Buell in 1st, lil surprising, HP advantage or not. We'll see how it performs on non-HP tracks thou..
Lot of grumbling about the DMG/AMA and new rules, especially from established stars/teams.
Non-Racing fun.
MJ showed up today with his posse, on bikes. Was cool escorting him into the infield and going to a few sections to watch the race. He's a fan. We talked the entire practice 2 about who was doing what and watching. I also won $20 off him in a bet, so that was fun. Had another NBA guy with him, Charles Oakley I think? He was nice guy. Big dude. Went to a kickboxing fight with the MJ Posse tonight as well, VVIP area, strange. Met the OCC guy with the walrus mustache while watching the fights. He's shorter than I thought. A shooter hooter girl (sells you shots) tried to take me home, she taught a pole dancing class, I tried to pass her off on Pridmore but she wasn't having it. So when she wasn't looking I told Pridmore we OUT and out the side door we went.
Tomorrow we have crew call at 6:45 (5 hours). I'm beat. Talk to you guys later. Glad you are enjoying the updates, twitter, etc.

This is SO much fun to read. If I didn't know better, I'd think Alex was writing a Penthouse forum "fantasy" column. But, I do know better.![]()
Good read! Keep em coming... I hope someone got some pics of Scotty G body surfing on Yates's bike! Sounds like a good one for the RRW crash page!
nice report alex. thanks!
