Well, this isn't gonna be my weekend. Fuck, it's lookin' like this year is gonna be a total wash at this point. As most of you know, our house still hasn't sold. Which means we'll be dropping our asking price, which means we'll hafta make up that 'loss' outta our pockets. Not to mention, I promised Cheryl I'd remain healthy for the pending move...
This totally sucks, and it's driving me fuggin' NUTS. I (we) spent the whole damn winter getting the Gixxer ready and I've only got FOUR races in this entire year. THIS FUGGIN' SUCKS!

It TOTALLY sucks, Jeff. I've been wanting to do this for YEARS (racing). And when it finally seems that all is good to go, THIS. I shoulda just fuggin' waited to do this, but we wanted to get it done before the new school year (for Kelsey's sake)...Originally posted by bemused

What really gets me is all the effort so many have put into MY racing over the winter, getting the bike ready and what not. It's beginning to seem as it was all for not, and it's REALLY eating at me now...![]()

Ya gotta relax, man. You have enough stresses in your life at the moment...worrying about your bike shouldn't be one of them. Once you get settled in your new place, then you can deal with the whole race effort. You're better off waiting until you can focus on the track...if you're trying to deal with too many things at once, you spread yourself too thin, and that's when bad things start happening.
As far as the effort everyone has put into your bike, it wasn't as much as you are making it out to be. I for one enjoyed ripping it apart and putting it back together again. I think everyone else did too. (Ed, Degsy, Mark, Mike, etc, etc)
Jay's expression says it all...
"I hope you kaks know what you are doing..."

Gordon as always your wisdom and subtle demeanor is a true gift.
Jay never forget the track will be there. As we attempt to live in the reality of today you shouldn't pressure yourself to get through tomorrow too soon.
I can certainly understand your frustration with wanting to be on the track. But if there is one thing this summer has taught me it is to prioritize the really important things. In your case family, house etc. The track and the team will always be there. So in good time you will make your return.
JAY,
GOOD NEWS, I WORK AT COLDWELL BANKER IN PLYMOUTH NOW
WHOS LISTIN YOUR HOUSE, MAYBE I CAN SEND SOME LEADS THEIR WAY....
BUT I NEED SPECIFICS,,
PM ME, WITH THE BROKER, $$ AND LOCATION, AND MAYBE WHAT THE HOUSE IS LIKE, HAVENT BEEN THERE YET..
AND DONT WORRY THINGS HAPPEN FOR A REASON, WE JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TILL IT'S USUALLY TOO LATE..

Thanks for the consolation, everyone. It's appreciated, but doesn't really help...
I've been attending the races faithfully for the past 15 years or so, and I've been waiting for the day when *I* could take my own laps. But there were always reasons why I couldn't: cost, doctors insistence, lack of an 'extra' bike, etc., etc...
I finally get my chance to have some fun, and I'm stopped dead in my tracks. Sure, I know plenty about priorities and what not. But it doesn't make it any easier to swallow...
I fuggin' HATE this to no end, and it sucks from where I stand right now. I'm in dire need of track time. If for nothing else, just to get in some practice shizzle...
I'm gonna hafta start planning some Thursdays off so I can AT LEAST do some practice sessions...![]()

Yeah, okay Mark....
Still waiting to see you out on the track, actually RIDING, be it a track day or whatever. Pix from 20+ years ago just don't cut it anymore...
There's a bit more to it than 'just taking the skirt off'. You know that...

Gonna be doing next trackday!
At least I can get that by the missus.....
As for my ability now? Who the frig knows, and I don't care as long as I'm out there....If I run 2 minute laps, I'll be happy, beause I'm out there, that's all that counts,,
And as for the skirt...you gotta undo the buttons first!

They credited my card, but I was VERY vigilent. You hafta FAX them your desire to cancel BEFORE the Wednesday preceeding the race. Then call 'em EVERY DAY, SEVERAL TIMES A DAY to make sure they got it...Originally posted by gsxr600ger
