The problem with the newer ones is the emissions laws are hurting them and the (newer) diesel fuel that is used w/ low sulfur. Many of them use to rely on the oils in the diesel to lube parts.Not so much anymore.

exactly, ULSD fuel kills the 98.5-02 cummins injection pumps which were designed to be cooled and lubricated by the fuel itself. the new fuel doesnt have the same lubricating effect as the old fuel, my solution along with many others is to add 1oz of 2 stroke oil to every 1 gallon of ULSD fuel.
