I jumped on to NEAR tonight to make a post about possibly moving the NEAR list to an actual message board. Everyone should get over there and voice their opinion. I don't care if it's an existing board like Peter's at GMD or if we have to create a new one, but it would be nice to have an easy to read forum for the LRRS racers.

yeah, PK is tryin to make a push for that... i'd MUCH rather have that happen than deal w/ the NEAR list... i don't even bother using it cuz it's such a pain

we've tried it a million times, and it never flies.
there is a reason there are only 5 active posters there
Why don't we just ask if we can have an LRRS sub forum here?

maybe we can do a sub forum of the LRRS subforum for garage and infield pitters, and one on that for pit bikes, and one on that for mayo or mustard.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
How often do we talk about racing at another venue?
I'd vote keep their name out of it, that way we can say they eat worms all day long.![]()

I'm cool with the email list, personally. Then again, I have rules and all matter of crazy email configuration, so my inbox reads like forum.
The problem with forums is that there are too many of them, and you have to go to each place to review them. So lets break it down real quick. I'm not a terribly active online member... but..
Supermotojunkie.com
nestreetriders.com
bandofriders.net
onedownfiveup.com
ktmtalk.com
thumpertalk.com
Thats six forums, six places to look for new posts. It almost becomes a fulltime job. Email is pretty direct and to the point. I come home, and have X number of messages for Ducati.net, Y number of messages for NEAR, Z number of messages for this and that. Much easier to read email, than browse a forum, personally.
The advantage to a forum, is its a lot more public. The disadvantage is that the information isnt consolidated into one place.
Now that I think of it, I'm going to write a program that brings forums and email together. I'll make millions!

BTW LRRS need a central location, we can use mine because they trust me. All we need to do is use it.

Of course, Doc's everywhere. I joined up also.
RSS/XML is a great. I wrote a util so I can pull the feeds via my cellphone for when I'm out and about and bored.
I have no idea what you guys are talking about.
I just wanna go fast!![]()

You know, I said before that I thought that they should just add a BBS to the LRRS site rather than using Peter's GMD site, but I rethought that. I think that Peter would provide the best solution. He puts forth more effort than most to get the news from our series posted for everybody, even if it's just a "nothing new, but just wanted to keep you guys in the loop" update.
If LRRS handled the BBS, you know they'd have some absentee administrator that could give two shits about it. I mean, just look at the rest of the site. Some of it looks like it hasn't been updated in 4 years!
Like Peter said, they trust him and more than that everybody knows him and he's also always active on the different boards trying to get the message out to everyone because he knows not everybody uses NESR.
