Also, I'm the only one bothering with a traditional 'pitbike' in the group, they're mostly flogging XR100s, TTR125s, and bigger machines now, FYI.

That's why I thought I'd toss that detail out there. If this is the same track you've been playing at before, those midsize machines would be fine.

No this is basically an exhibition in a parking lot with cones and hay bales. I actually think those bikes are a little big for the Kart track we run on.

Heh, some time check out the Stimilon / Masters of Minis / Cycles 128 pavement MX race in the fall. You'll see machines in the XR100/TTR125 range running on a very tight course having a ball, in the parking lot behind Cycles 128 with only hay bales to define the course and it works great.

Do they get out of 2nd gear?

Gear for the track, I used all 4 gears on my machines, bigger motors with wider torque curves typically gear for 2nd and 3rd, leaving 1st for the holeshot.
