This was my first, and I had a blast. The attendance seemed pretty good considering the situation. I hate winter so any excuse to get away and do something different is welcome.

I was there. Definitely not a shortage of food, everybody pigged out! Elvis wasn't there, so Doug Scheer and Jack Aksel received his six championship awards for him. Doug was hilarious! He also brought an air horn to signal anybody whose acceptance speeches were too long. Dave Ruocco received a nice third place championship trophy with an original crayon etching by Mike Martire on it.

There was not a keynote speaker (We already had Cameron at the Vintage Banquet two weeks ago). Degsy didn't make it, so no slide show. (I want to buy a copy, Derek)
The heat in my room worked this year. The party up in the Governor's Suite only lasted until 2 AM, etc. etc.
A good time despite the storm!

My first...and I enjoyed it.
Scale of 1-10
1 being you plan a party and nobody shows.....![]()
10 being Stonnerstock....
I'd give it a 5
I still love the smell of burnt racing fuel in the morning!
Did they cancel it??Originally posted by Paul_E_D
Did anyone go? did they cancel it? How was it?That was almost too funny.. haha
They didn't cancel racing when it was snowing 2 years ago and they didn't cancel the the racing in the big flood of 2004, why would they cancel a banquet that you drive to?![]()
The food was good this year and plenty to go around, and yes, we had to put on a wrist band to eat![]()
Road conditions were not a real issue with a little planning, we left about 9am and the highway was in good shape and traffic moving at 50-60mph for the most part
Yamaha
compared to the past it sucked, food was better because half the people didn't show.
My son loved the pool!
Driving home was a blast!

Ha! We actually were joking about that. We figure there were more trucks and nut jobs per capita at Loudon than nearly anywhere. Canceling for weather would have been somewhat comical!
What happens if you got a trophy, but weren't present? Pick it up next season??? Or will they mail it?
I don't know what happens to them, but you got one![]()
Congrats![]()

There musta been a lot of folks who received awards who weren't at the banquet. I also wonder how to get my two plaques and free race entries. I'll assume they'll be waiting for me to pick them up at the first event???
They recycle them and give them to next years winners!!![]()

That's what they say if you don't pick up your plaque after a race weekend, so I figured it would be the same!![]()

Pick it up from Betty Bluenose when the season starts. They absolutely will not mail them.Originally posted by Paul_E_D

And be grateful that Doug Scheer didn't pick it up for you onstage!
