I think most run Powers. I could be wrong though.

i did well in the rain on the pilot powers.
full rains would be better. I think some of the guys run Bstones rains
Most everyone runs Bridgestone rains. Pilot Powers are decent all around tire, but no match for true rain tires.

I've never run against him on rain tires.
There is a reason the experts run rains and not PP's.

Well before I go purchase tires (I swear one of these days Ill figure out what Im doing with this bike then I can stop asking stupid questions)
Im on pilot powers now which are basically shagged, and my best lap is a 1:32, I figure with the rate these go through tires I might as well just get pilot races, that way if I go faster Ill be in good shape. So is it feasable to run Pilot race for damp and dry, and rains for wet, or should I just go with pilot race for dry and pilot powers for damp and wet.
Go true rains, you won't regret it. Then again, I'm sure you wouldn't regret powers either.
Here's an idea, run your current powers as rain/damp only tires until they are 100% spent. In the meantime, buy some Race's or 209's and come play with us almost-fast guys
BMF, I'm tired and a billion things are goin on today (vacation, signing on a house, looking at wedding places, working, etc) so I'm bad with the funny. Not your fault!![]()

Haha that sounds like a good plan that I didnt think of, get race and just use the ones I have, I might have to do that. However you did make ONE big mistake. You did see me race on sunday, and even WITH race tires I dont think Ill be playing with you "almost fast" guys for a quite a while yet. Once I knock another 8 seconds or so off my best, then we can discuss it.
The hot ticket in rain tires are the Bridgestones for the EX500. They are the only ones that make a 155/60/17 rear. They will last you a couple seasons.
I am running the Pirelli rains just because they were readily available at the track the day I needed them. The rear is a 160 though, so because I have a short chain I have to run a much smaller rear sprocket so I can move the tire back to clear the swing arm.
If you are running 1:30's power race tires will last you a full season.
