No. LRRS had enough with wheelies in the paddock so they told him to sit out the rest of this season.....or so the rumor mill goes.
lol, ok
maybe he'll mature a little over the winter....
Sam
That's smart, tell one of your front running expert middleweight riders to sit the rest of the season out. Was this for wheelies on his scooter?
I had heard it was wheelies during red flags and not paying the second fine. of course this is just rumor.

I think "hyping" it is a bad approach to a solution.
Tyler is a fun kid, if he's not responsible enough to follow rules they laid out, then gotta deal with the consequences.
I was usually careful not to spoil it for myself at the track because it took so much work and money to get there... It seems like the lower budget racers are less likely to take it for granted.
Should there be a free Narbonne thread as well? If I'm not mistaken, both of them are going through the same punishment.....
But seriously, they repeatedly say we will be fined if we fuck around in the paddock. I guess they weren't lying.

I seem to recall many years ago an incident where a top LRRS rider crashed his scooter into someone's race bike in a fit of rage.... nothing was done, because he was untouchable.
Times are a changin', with what's his face (fast motard guy I can't remember his name) banned, and these comin'... I guess it goes to show a priority on maintaining a safe and semi-respectable paddock, which are both good things and long overdue. Just because you're a fast guy, should not allow you to do whatever you want without regard for others' safety or effort put in to be there.
Besides, the fast guys should SET THE EXAMPLE, not let their egos / irresponsibility get in the way. Case-in-point: ScottyG, ScottyM, etc. They're fast as stink, and just go about their business.
Edit: I like Tyler a lot, he's a good kid... but as small as the paddock seems to be some days, there are people there who just want to make their race and it's a dangerous enough sport as it is without having mistakes when goofing around.

Its youthful over-exuberance. Tyler wheelied in te paddock an slid his R6 into the garage sideways in front of me at one of our trackdays. We had him spoken to for that and a couple of on track close calls. He understood and I fully expect him to change for next year and he is of course still welcome and indeed wanted at our track days.
It's a different story when you are holding the liability insurance rider, let me tell you. Visions of being in a huge lawsuit because someone got hurt and having to explain that the behavior went unchecked because he is a "fast guy" would not impress a jury.
very well said.. kid is incredibly fast and talented.. but we are a community and there are responsibilities and someone like tyler will set an example for many young riders joining the track.
i wish the kid to be back soon, keep enjoying life as much as he does, only to get faster and smarter
Wheelies during red flags are definitely not cool, I've corner worked before and had some close calls while picking up bikes. I'm sure everyone's seen that youtube video of the corner workers who got mowed down coming out of turn 2 10 or 15 years ago. I thought al this was about messing around on the scooter.
Besides its not like he was doing wheelies on a bike with one wheel leaking oil holding a baby while smoking a butt around a fuel truck full of nuns. He did do stupid stuff (yes stupid Tyler) but no one felt that he was endangering property or people (majority) I just wanted to let him know that there are people that support him and hope he just learns from this and moves forward. I did, On a side note (and I'm sure ill be poked at for this) my first ever meeting with the official that Tyler seems to be able to get under his skin so easy, was my first AM year. I was on the way to tech and I rolled on the throttle and the front wheel lifted enough to clear about 4 inches. I'm standing in reg, In walks this dude into reg (room full of people) and asks who 428 is. I reply I am he then tells me to "step outside we need to have a little chat." he starts out with Hi my name is .....wait nope it was "do you want to donate $100?" and I'm like what? for doing a wheelie I'm told. I replied with I didn't do a wheelie I just rolled on the throttle and the front end came up a little, I then got ohh how about $200? cause they saw you do it twice. Now I am a upset grown man being talked to like a kid by some guy whom I have no clue who he is. I replied with I didn't know what he was talking about doing it twice, but admitted to the one roll on and I got a stare like I used to get from my step father when I didn't mow the lawn. He asked if his employees were lying to him and I just said give me a fine sure I did a wheelie. He said he would rather not give me a fine but gave me that stare again and said "we will be watching, we have your number." Well welcome to Loudon 2010 I said to my self as I entered back into registration to a crowd of OHHHHHHHHHHHH what did you do's, so ya I feel some frustration for Tyler and Shane only because the way I was treated myself and I'm sure there are others that have been treated the same by the same person that just haven't said anything.
I'm happy Tyler made the best of it and did the last AMA round in NJ and pulled out a 9th.
