This morning it was clear for Saturday... then it changed to "Few Showers"... now its calling for straight rain. I'm thinking I'm just going to flip a coin! I'm pretty sure I'm heading up regardless... bikes ready for either rain or shine. Who else is in the same boat?
I just sent Stevie Dunlop an email to see how much dunlop rains are. FUCK RAIN. Then I called Kates............he's got tires and he can get Michelins.
Hopefully kates has tiahs.

Luckily Jeff gave me a 16.5" rain when I bought the bike. Apparently 16.5's are tougher to come by. Don't want to buy a rear... but might have too!
Boston --> San Diego
the weather report has changed 20 times since saturday ...
i'll let you know what its going to be on Saturday ....

no kidding.
honestly, I enjoy racing in the rain so I could care less.
and my rain tires are just michelin pilot power street tires.

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
I need a new Avon rear rain tire. If its raining on Saturday (rookie race), I will run my pilot races, finish the race (probrobly dead last), and call that that. If its raining on Sunday, then I'm just packing up and leaving. I dont have to get a new rear rain, or the money for that matter.
This could put a damper on the whole weekend. I dont mind racing in the rain, but I'm certianly not going to do it on slicks/dot race tires.
They should call Production Twins what it really is, Shitty McBikefest. Rules for Participation: If your bike runs lower laptimes than a lawnmower, you are not eligibile for Shitty McBikefest. -Darrell

this is a typical LRRS event weather pattern ... might as well put down the money now for rains (a set should last you a year or more)

I have a set of rains. I used them already (Remember I'm racing ESMRA and LRRS). The front is good for awhile, but I need a new rear. Does anyone know anyone that sells Avon tires (at the track, or who has them in stock)? I just scraped together the $$ for a rear rain.

it's going to be sunny and beautiful, now shut up about the nonexistant rain.
(just bought a new rain suit)
why does it have to be avon? no one sells them at the track. if it's just to match an avon front then it won't matter + you can use any brand rear. I've used different brands at the same time before + they've worked fine
I have a set of 120/190 Dunlop Rains... I've switched bikes this year and run a smaller rear... They were used exactly *one* race.
Someone make me an offer and i'll bring em up for ya.... I'm in Center Garage #8

Yea I wouldn't be too worried about mixing and matching rain tires. Regular tires thou.. not advisable.

If yo'ure looking to cheap out now and it's only the first weekend yo'ure going to have problems.

They called for partly sunny and 65 today. I just got home from putting almost 200 miles on and am still drying out. Faulken forecasters can NEVER get it right.
Here's what'll be happening this weekend. Jay swears by this site and it's usually dead on. Good Luck to all this weekend and stay dry.
