Who REALLY hates the newer Turn 3 spectator area at NHMS?

I agree. The new bleacher location in T3 is awful for spectating. The lack of a PA system makes it twice as worse. There is a pretty sweet wooden tower in T1a that's nice for photos though.

Spectating at the track for those without intimate knowledge of who is out there wouldn't be bad if they fixed the PA system.

That was an awesome place to spectate. Any idea why they got rid of that area and increased the fenced in area?

I had a big crash in turn 7 in June (forget the year). There was virtually no runoff there and I jumped off the bike at speed and ended up on the tire wall.

That winter they increased the fenced in area.

As for Turn 3, it definitely sucks. I'm still hopeful that all these changes to improve the track for Nascar leads to us getting our own playground.

Agreed, T3 bleachers suck now. Its really disappointing because thats where the crowd always is...where are they going to go now? All the other vantage points aren't anywhere near the action like T3 was

It is too bad what happened with the turn 3 seats. Always loved standing there for the races. The real fast guys are awesome to watch come through there.

At least we can still wander down pit lane and watch turn 1. That is pretty exciting for the starts especially with the bigger fields.

The wife and I have only been to a few races since moving up here but I can say she/we were pissed about the change. After the nascar change her first words, and mind you she's pretty quiet and laid back, were WTF happened to the bleachers? I wonder if there is a rule against stilts!

I hate it, especially when you only have a few minutes before a race. Like if Im in race 5 and a friend is in 3 or 4, at least I can go catch a couple laps before I have to start getting ready. Getting to 1, 1a or 6 just isnt going to happen

Thats like the best part of the weekend ehh KB? Nothing like sitting in the bleachers in the hot sun with a cold beer and good friends hooting and hollaring at the sweet race action in the Dash for Cash! But ya the turn 3 bleachers suck now

I wouldn't mind cornerworking so much, but it doesn't give you the opportunity to walk around and talk to friends in the pits between races.

I am happy that they decided to pull the photographer stand inside the fence at T1/1A/2 though.

I guess I'll have to settle for snapping photos there are inside the camera cage at T12.

if you work the practice and run it by the captains in certain corners then they will let you pop in and out in the afternoon for pictures. not that every jackal with a camera gets to do it at once, but if you work then you are trained to be on a live track and are more likely to find a friendly corner captain to let you pop in for a race. turn 3/10 works great for this, turn 6 would be good, ect...


JUST MAKE SURE TO CLEAR IT BEFORE WANDERING OUT THERE!!!
