    Hawk Racing parts questions

I have alot to do to get the SnowHawk up and track ready, I am trying to get an Ebay shopping list going, any help would be greatly appreciated.

OK so I know I need a front end off a CBR F4i... (I think it is a direct bolt up right?)

What Non stock (Bigger) radiator are you Hawk guys running? How does it mount? What radiator hoses are you using?

How about the wheels? Do you all run the 4-bolt VFR or is anyone running the Ducati or Triumph conversion? How did that go? Who did the work?

    Hawk Racing parts questions

You're crazy. F2 front end, it's cheaper. Though the F4 is very nice. I was running a zx7 radiator, until my crash. Now I'm running some kind of black honda rad. It works just fine. I only know one(out of 5 or 6) hawk guy using anything but a factory(or direct factory bolt up) rear wheel. If Gino stays with the factory one, who am I to argue? Get some giant sliders, too. And a chain roller. Run it naked too, I like having the only faired Hawk up there . No gauges, no fairings. ValenGino style!!

Front end: Gino runs a F4i, it's a direct bolt on. Matt, Bob, and Chris all run F2 front ends, also a direct bolt on. I run a 99 GSXR front end, NOT a direct bolt on. Also in the 'direct bolt on' Category are RC51, 929, 954, F3, Superhawk, 600RR.

I have a complete F2 front end for sale, off my racebike, ran it last year and did 20's.

Radiator: Unless you have a modified motor, a larger radiator isn't needed. Other radiators that have been used are: F2, F3, Ducati 748/996, Kawi ZX7RR, 900RR. Matt and I have F3, Bob has a 900RR, Chris has a ZX7, and Gino has a custom JBR he got of JD Hord.

Wheels No one has a VFR wheel on their racehawks except the ultra-new kid Scott (he converted his streetbike). Matt, Gino, Bob, and Chris all run the stock rear wheels, which is 4.5" wide. I run a magnesium Technomagnesio 5.25" wide (good luck finding another one). If you run a VFR wheel, I recommend the 5" one, not the 5.5" one.

A 5" wheel streches a 160 rear tire out a little bit and supposedly give it a teeny bit more footprint. Like >.< much. Lots of SV guys do a similar move. A 5.5" won't really work with a 160 and anything larger (170, 180) on a Hawk is dumb and the swingarm gets pissed.

I have a 4 bolt 5" VFR wheel and modified spindle for sale. I bought it for my racebike before I found the uber-rare Technomagnesio.

I would suggest spending a few minutes browsing our Forum, as many of these questions have been spoken about a bit more in depth. mstone834 and Gino are especially tech-savvy, not to mention the Hawk Master JD Hord. http://www.maberacing.com/forum

    Hawk Racing parts questions

Thanks guys! I went and looked at the Mabe racing page after I posted this up.

I am currently talking to JD about tuning my motor.

I also have 600rr fairings (front and rear), going for a Repsol Honda Repli... that I was planning on bolting up. It may be a difficult process so that might not go through.

I currently have the F2 front and 5.0 vfr rear rim and spindle on my street hawk. I was just gonna swap parts.

I have a stock rad but I didn't know if something mounted up easy (I am having problems finding radiator hoses), then I could sell the stock one.

I have a spare set of stock rims and wheels...

Alex, let me know how much for those parts (f2 front and Vfr rear).

Is it an after 94 f2 front?

    Hawk Racing parts questions

    Hey Doc.
Stick with the stock rear rim. You already have a spare rim for rains. + you can sell the Kuwait with the much admired (Custom) VFR modification for a bit more. When it is a custom you should double your profit. Right…But if you want to swap it out just swap out the hub assembly. Not the swingarm. Much less work.

Stick with the stock motor for racing Novice. I did and learned a lot. It will put down a 1.22.5. Yea you got to work at it but it is mucho rewarding to kick 600 but. Sock motor =stock radiator with 520 16-45 tooth sprocket. I know your carb needs some work.

Don't bother with the old front-end technology. Stick with the current f4 series. $500-$600 or if you are lucky cheaper but watch out. Direct bolt “”COMPRESSION AND REBOUND DAMP bonus.””

    REAR suspension = Ohlins $600

    I'll call you later
