There's truth and charm and beauty
And strangeness everywhere
The closer we examine
The more there's nothing there
Is that fancy talk for give them back their money? Not that I would ever consider tracking a bike I still owed money on, but I can't help but think that the bank would not really give a damn what condition the bike was in as long as you kept sending the check every month.

Aaaaand who tells the insurance company?!?
Yeah, I'm condoning fraud or some shit now, aren't I...
..Just buy a beater SV people. If I can do it, any of you clowns can.
If you don't think of yourself as an idiot then don't think like an idiot. It's not "just 250 a month". It's 7500 dollars.
Do you want to buy it for 7500 dollars? Ask yourself that & there's your answer.
AnotherPaying your cousin to pay the lender is a HORRIBLE idea.

Roland, if you're like me, you have 1 focus. Getting on the box, getting on the box with AM plates, getting on the box with white plates, beating Pete, Chuck, Adam, Ducette, and everyone else in my class, and getting an AMA ride. I might not make it there, age and experience are against me (and you) so we need to be even more focused.
So ask yourself if this furthers YOUR goal. If you want to win, you'll always think like that. I slipped up for round 6, didn't save enough or make enough side work to clear my race budget AND the stupid crap I shouldn't have needed to worry about because I didn't save during the winter for racing. Don't make my mistake. Stay focused in the off season and save to race. When you have a Supersport built SV all ready to go, your tire allowance in the trailer for the year, and enough money in the bank to afford a season of racing, THEN go spend on crazy stuff. Or save for retirement.
^ but do you have raw talent?

Roland,
It's Nick (garage 2)
I'm selling my sv! I'll give you a decent deal on it and would love to see it stay local. Though having to look at it in the same garage every race weekend may be too close.
Hey Roland. Just checking... do you need anyone else to kick you in the direction of the SV if you want to race? I just read quickly through this thread and think you can get an race setup SV, suspension rebuild, and a years tires for $7500.
Not sure but it seems reasonable as I bought my 2006 SVS with 400 or 500 miles on it in 2008 for $3800. I only did suspension, frame sliders, rear sets, and brake lines/pads so it wasn't a full race build. Been tempted to fix low end fueling bumpiness with Power Commander or similar but too lazy since bike works great.
Coming from racing touring cars these budgets for racing make me chuckle... and indeed, make me happy that I'm done with that stuff for now.
Get what you want but I hear all the gray haired dudes who know they can die and who want to be able to return to work on Monday... are racing SV's. (ducking and running)
