Full Hotbodies with professional paint.
CFM rearsets

From the pictures the bike looks cherry but it is hard to gauge what an SV race bike is worth from looking around.

Thanks, I am looking into one as a partial trade for my CBR.
Thanks for the info. The guy said he wanted 3500 for it and it looks to be in pretty cherry condition with some spares. However it seemed a little high to me.
I am confused, why would it need a new crank?
yeah... im confused too
When I start my KTM in the morning, rules are broken. Its inevitable...

It's the weakest part of an SV. Especially the 2nd gen motors. After a few seasons of racing they seem to have crank problems. I'm not an SV guy, but I've been at loudon for 5 years and that's the word I hear. I'm just saying be aware and spend accordingly. Not that it may not last you a while.
ok thanks.
Well this is a first gen SV not a second gen so that does not even pertain.
As for the value all the racebikes I have seen them go for right around 2800-3000. I would probably pay upwards of 3300 for that kinda set up though.
head over to :: SVRIDER.COM :: Suzuki SV650 / Suzuki SV1000 / Suzuki SV650S / Suzuki SV1000S :: The Ultimate SV Website! if you have more questions. There are plenty of racers over there.

No no 03 was the first year of the second generation. I have an 02.
FYI fitting a gen 2 motor in a gen 1 is not easy.

Great, you guys are the best. Looks like I will most likely be trading my 600rr for this plus some cash. Here is a pick.
Now I have another forum to try and keep up with
Randy
Like I said head over to svrider and you will find all the info you want/need on the SV. I have taken my SV apart a few times so I know stuff if you need any help. Thanks

thats a beautiful bikeim considering picking up an SV to track and maybe race at some point.. who here is a good resource that has AIM or Yahoo messenger that I can bug? I was thinking about trying to find an 03 for the 20ft lbs increase but was told maybe the older ones are better for track.. anyone? Hit me up.
Check out the forum link BostonSV posted earlier. I have only browsed a little bit but it seems like good info. I'll sell you this one![]()
you are actually really local to me. do you go to bike night? i dont really have anyone around anymore to ride with down here. Everyone moved lol.
I dont have much of a budget which is whats killing me. I will end up finding something that is half as nice as that one and putting some work into it. I need to find out what year im going after though. the 03 with the tourque difference and the FI or the carbed 01 / 02. I want a toy, id love to keep it streetable and track day it. I do want to get into racing though as my skills advance. Also want something i can learn to wheelie on and if i dump it i still have my other bike to ride lol And yes i joined over the other forum as well but I know a lot of guys here know a lot about the SVs too
