RIP Steven Almeida

Honestly I never met the guy but that's academic. He was a new racer up at LRRS, just like myself, and he's no longer with us.

From what Jerry told us at the rider meeting. Steve was 37, racing a R6, he was from Seekonk MA, and is survived by his wife and child. They are going to post the Memorial Service info on the lrrsracing.com site if people are interested. I think they are going to take donations as well.

RIP man. Hope you are draggin knee thru the clouds.

I was gridded on row three and just to Steve's right. I saw him get hit and then had to swerve to the right to avoid his bike. Based on what I saw, I wasn't surprised at all to see the red flag before I was all the way through T1.

I never met him but he was one of us out there doing what we love to do. It just sucks.

The wake for Steven Almeida will be Wednesday October 5th at the Birch Crest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd. in Swansea MA The Funeral will be on Thursday at 9AM at the First Baptist Church at the corner of Baptist St and Rt 6 in Swansea.

Steve is survived by his partner, Yulissa Godoy and his son Zachary who is 2.
