1. Talk of new track is said to exist, but nothing in near future.
Talk is good, but it needs to become action.
2. NHMS is adding a $10,000 purse to the championship winners.
Great. But at the same time, recognize amature class championships, even without a purse.
3. No wrist band fee for racers who pre-register more than 3 races per weekend.
Great.
4. $15 camping fee at track.
Sounds reasonable
5. Bigger budget and plans for classic.
Like what?
6. We need some way to help market LRRS so we can stay strong.
They can start by cleaning up and updating the website. No offence, but lrrsracing.com is in serious need of maintenence. Then, how about spectator passes given out to motorcycle dealerships. This way, we can get the motorcycle riders who have never seen or heard of our racing out there with no cost to them. This may get the bug in some of them and create new racers. Then there needs to be some spectator services. For the people outside of the infield, you are very disconnected to everything.
7. More airfence.
Good.
Gotta agree with you there Eric. Improving the website is big. The banquet that was in the same room just hours before is already posted with pics, etc. The Winchester Speedpark MX group.
So there will be a gate fee AND a camping fee AND an electricity fee now?
Bottom line. Price is going up for the little guy and money goes to those who can afford it.
I may be out of line here but this whole marketing thing bugs the shit out of me. LRRS is a business. How many times have we all heard that before? LRRS needs to spend their own time and money on marketing. If word of mouth isn't working for you then you need to address what is wrong with your business and fix it!
If you want your customers to market for you then give us something in return.Same goes for Penguin. How many times did Eric Wood pitch the penguin school at riders meetings last year?
If you want us to get you more customers we should get something in return. For example- if I bring 2 fans to the races I should get maybe 1/2 off my gate fee. 4 fans free gate etc.
If I get a rider to sign up for Penguin how about a discounted rate on Friday practice. 2 riders = free friday practice etc.
This is my .02 Take it for what it's worth.
I tend to agree, we need to grow the business blah blah blah. What do I get in return? Hell, Ill help you grow if Im not embaressed to tell my friends and family what it costs to get in. Having those people there is enough for me to help it grow, but we need to be helped to do that.
OK, Direct from Wanda. Again, the best way to get answers and voice your opinions and concerns is to go to NHMS.com. Ask direct through the contact list. Post ideas and concerns in the fan forum - LRRS.
Paul,
Tell these people to contact NHMS for answers at NHMS.com; or by phone (603) 513-5728. Because Eric was not entirely accurate about a few things. RaceLoudon.com, and LRRSracing.com may not have all the info. NHMS.com WILL!
$15 camping per spot per weekend WITHOUT water and electricity. $25 per spot per weekend WITH water and electricity. Camper dumping NOT approved, we agreed to LOOK into it….No answers there yet.
Free infield pass ($25 value) with 3 PRE-entry races per event; HOWEVER, if any of the races are cancelled at any point before the conclusion of the event, we will keep $25 for the infield pass and the $10 cancellation fee when we run the credits.
There is so much more….but they need to go to the people who make the decisions, NHMS.
Thanks, Paul! I appreciate the help.
Wow. Thats even a worse deal.
:shredder:
That clears things up a bunch, thanks. So I am in for the weekend w/ my tramper for $15 using a battery powered light (the only thing I used electric in there at all) as it sits. If I pretty it up and add running water & functioning outlets it's $25/weekend for the hookups. I can deal with that.
Yeah, so:
INFIELD PASS ($25)
CAMPING FEE ($15)
ELECTRICITY FEE ($10)
I was right.
$50 gets you what $30 used to.
Please, someone pull out the "It's on the only game in town, put up or shutup, racing isn't cheap, etc" comments. Those are helpful.
LMAO, hahahaha... yeah, they're def. "improving" things!
What does the Red Roof run per night? $75? For two beds, TV, hot shower, free breakfast, swimming pool, hot tub, free parking?
Split two ways, that is seeming rather economical compared to pitching a tent on hard pavement since there is no grass left. I'll just street reg the racebike and ride to races from the RR. At least my tires will have a chance to warm up and I'll have just as close of an idea when 1st call is than anyone else who can't hear anything from that fucking PA system.
