that's another great incentive. I am hoping to be corner working this year !

It's a minimum of 3.
best lrrs improvment ive heard so far is brett guyer isnt running that 108hp 85 ftlbs of torque ducati tractor in lightweight anymore hes moving on to somthing else and todd babcock doesnt seem to be into it right now, gunna be verry interresting this year
I'm not worried about that. For simplicity, let's just say CW's are officials/employee's. I love all you fucking asshats, including Burgs, Denno, Gino, Dan K, et al. If I had to pay to scrape your worthless asses of the ground,,,ya'll can " Die in a fire " (WERA beeb thing).:wub:
Read Wanda's email I posted pages ago....3 pre reg races = $25.00.
To clarify - what I meant earlier was...what gave anyone the idea if you rented a garage you also had to pay a camping fee? I haven't seen or heard anything to support this idea, especially not Wanda's email.
Some of the ideas for promo, Sat. only gate fees, lower entry fees for family and friends and some others sound good. Post 'em in the LRRS section at the NHMS site. Cut out the middle man.
Now that I think of it, I hate you all. Every last one of you. :deathslap:
im ready to do battle
I took a look at the go speedway forum that was posted.... all I saw was ~2 years of NESR members posting and making suggestions without getting any feedback from the powers that be except for Johny B. Hell, I see plenty of that over here. I don't need to go register over there to see more of it. :) :) 10 threads total... 9 of which were started in 2008 and one from 2010 (posing repeat questions of this thread).
Let's see.... How to attract more fans? Check..... What improvements might be good? Check.... LRRSracing.com is down or inaccurate? Check.... LRRS Trailer/Camper parking? Check...
Shrug.... maybe I'm just having a cynical night but if we're having the same discussions two years later with no official replies on the LRRS forum, why post 2010 concerns?
It's February. Shouldn't we be handing out posters? Directing potential racers and spectators to a website that doesn't have the 2008 rulebook on it? Unreasonable expectations?
Back to the garage, I have a race bike to work on.

How about they start getting the radio transmitter up and running now so it does not take 3 weekends into the season like the last five years.
I dont mind paying a little extra (even though I race 3 races so gates fee is waived?) if we can get some upgrades to the consistant problems that we have year after year that we all make publicly known that we are aware of them and please do somthing. Its made known on this forum, NHMS, E-mails to Don, Wanda, mentioned at riders meetings. we cant express our thoughts or opinons any more than we have. I plan on racing as long as I am physically and monetarily able to do so. Gate fees, wrist band fees, tunnel fees, infield vehicle stickers, take more that two shits a day fees, what ever, make the improvements that you know need to be made and make your business attractive to bring in the Racers, Spectators, Vendors, Media no mater what the fees, such as Eric mentioned Barber nice place dont mind paying at all. I dont know just ranting now but I think it makes sense. Ok im done now.
Bwahahahahah. Oh sorry. Carry on.
Ok so let say the rumor is true. and its going to cost us 25.00 more per weekend (assuming your only going to run LWGP and not get the free armband by preentering 3+) and that in turn is going to cost you $ 200.00 more per year to be able to race and camp at the track.
Yet you ride a TZ250 ????????? and your worried about 200 ? Those things are maintence pigs! pistons, race gas, plugs, cranks, TIRES etc etc etc etc.
I can see a PTwins guy on a Ex500 - he buys his bike for 800-1500 and rides the same set of tires for the whole season. 200 is a big expense for some racers..but lets step back and be serious.... you ride a 250 ! If you can afford to race THAT bike, 200 bucks shouldn't be a deal breaker.
Not trying to stir the pot.. but again.. lets wait to see the details of the new fee's before selling our bikes on craigslist and taking up soap box derby racing.
$800 and $550 for each EX500. $1500? Are you on crack? It's an EX500 for christ's sake!
I don't think it's the specific monetary adjustments they are talking about that really bothers people, it's that over the last 5 years I've been racing, virtually nothing has been done to address the nagging issues that bother 90% of the hobbyist type racers out there.

The top racers could stop showing up and the club would be fine (if not even better, more chance for the hobbyist to place well).
If the hobbyists stop coming, LRRS is done.
LRRS, as all club racing, is fed by hobbyist money. Not guys getting lots of contingency money/products. Sure, those guys make it more exciting and they are important, but the meat and potatoes is the guys paying their own way. There are just so many of them.
Yes, racing is expensive. But there are a lot of other pastimes people can endulge in for similar money. With so many alternatives out there, people end up re-evaluating if it is worth it for what they are getting. Just look at Motocross. For the same level of competition except on dirt, you are looking at a $150 weekend. Yes, different costs to the track, running it, staff, facilities, etc, but these complaints you are hearing is coming from the non-business end. Customers don't care about how much it costs to run a track, they care about racing and the fees associated with it to them.
I'm not sure if I will be racing again this year. I bought a second racebike planning to do so, but as time goes on and we near the beginning of the season, things keep adding up. Am I cheap? You bet. Do I have the money to race even at the higher cost? Of course.
But is it worth it to me when I could be out on my woods bike, doing hare scrambles, flying the plane, doing trackdays at Loudon, etc etc for less money?
TBD.
Now you can see where people like me are coming from.
We WANT to race. But it's hard when the costs keep going up without anything for us to grab onto and say "Yeah, it's more expensive this year, but at least we got X!!! That makes it worth it!".
Get us X. We need it.
eh, thats kind of ridiculous. the justification shouldn't be, "well you can afford it so we can charge it." you can afford $20 a day for a cup of coffee, but would you pay it?
i haven't raced in a couple years so i guess my opinion shouldn't really matter and you can take it for what it's worth but i don't think people would mind an increase in prices when they actually see a return on it. this is a serious question because i don't really know the answer, but what real improvments have been made over the past couple years. what promises have actually been fulfilled?
as far as getting things done, if it were me, and i was a rider rep on this board i would consolidate everyones concerns and proposed solutions and take them to management. hell, i would even consider creating an NESR rep to take on the job.
Bottom line is, it won't affect many racers, it's just more of the same song and dance. The parties running the show had better pull their heads out of their collective asses and... oh, I don't know.. display some genuine appreciation for the customers / racers or... as has been said, people will continue to spend money elsewhere.
With NJMP, Monticello, possibly that track in Tamworth that might never be built as viable options... it's getting easier to rationalize doing a buncha track days at new, fun tracks versus committing to a full season of racing.
I hate to harp on it, but the business that is NHMS and LRRS must evolve. The time of "take it or leave it we're the only option around and everyone has tons of money to waste" is gone.
Very well put and that is how I am sure most of us club racers feel. As someonelse put it, we are consumers of a product that NHMS is selling. They want to charge more they should justify it by giving something in return. Like you said...the PA System, Online reg... those things should have been setup and completed long ago and now is the time they should see it through. With NJMP in the mix with a race series, LRRS entries will take a hit from the Conn / NY/NJ guys coming all the way to Loudon, and the economy is going to force out some past racers.
If I were you, I would cut and copy your post and email it to the LRRS powers to be.
I know I was harping about online reg earlier, just bear in mind it IS in the works from what I've heard.... can't hurt to hear more about people wanting it, but at least there's some hope for some positive change :D
