I was pushing pretty damn hard and was a second off my usual times.
So I agree, once we get a few more weekends in I think I'll be able to make a lot of that up in the 1-1A area.

I did see a few people go down in 1A. That's not really set up too well in my opinion.
They have pit out running by there, protected by a stack of tires from the race line, then the pit out lane, then the air fence in front of what will be the infield fencing. Old car race tires are hard as hell to crash into, and I watched 2 riders do that in the 5 or 6 races I watched from down there.
It seems you could let the pit out riders blend a lot earlier and get rid of that row of tires.

it's a lot of fun. new pavement is niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice.
on a lightweight bike i'd say it's at least as fast as it was. on the throttle a _lot_ longer on the front straight now. 1a is a real knee-down turn and you seem to get a better drive out of 2 (more speed into 3).

+1. I'm happy to be wrong, but on this layout I knocked .8 off my old personal best. so I'm inclined to credit the new layout.

Maybe it is a little faster for lightweight bikes.![]()

I heard it was 1.5 - 2 seconds slower on Friday. Then on Saturday I was hearing 1-1.5 seconds. I was happy with that, it put me to my usual times.
With Shane ripping off a 1:10something this weekend, and the top 3 running 1:12s in the Classic, I'm guessing it's about the same (or will be). That being said, the guy leading most of that race would be the best one to comment...SG?

JT,
The jury is still out.. but I am guessing its a touch slower... but not by much though... maybe a few tenths to .5 ?

When I was running it on Thursday the curb was not painted and I felt pretty good thru there. Then they went and painted everything and it screwwed me all up! Anyone else have that problem? It's prolly just me!
On a power deprived bike, it felt faster, as the run out of 2 and into 3 wasn't as much of a drag race as it was before for me? Might just be I got comfy with the new layout sooner than others, but I'm going to predict the record will be 1:09.5 by the end of the season if we can get a couple good, dry and hot weekends without injuries to Jeff W.
I felt it was a bit slower and looking at the laptimes of my normal competition I'd say that was the case. Personally I ran faster than I have all year thou. When it wasn't raining the conditions were good and the track felt fast, plus I think I was riding the best I have all year and enjoyed going balls-out into T1![]()
