How soon - generally - does it take to get your new license once you send in the renewal form?

I plan to preregister for the entire year once I get my new license. If I use a credit card, they don't charge the whole amount for the year at once, do they? I thought someone told me that they only charge you for the weekend you're racing and that they hit your card a coupla days before the weekend. Can anyone confirm or deny this? I'll be preregistering for about $2000 worth of races this year. I'd like to know it's not gonna hit my CC all at once...

Yes, they charge you the week of the race. You must fax in a cancellation form no later than Wed. of that week if you aren't going to run.

Generally....They (NHIS) hit your card the thursday/friday, before the races for the amount of the pre-reg rates for how ever many races you'll be registered. And if you are not gonna make a weekend, as long as you notify them before the previous wednesday....No C/C charge for that race weekend.

I looked into pre-reg for the season and this was my explanation.
Sounds like a good deal to me.

Heh...I knew about the cancelling thang...

Now, is there a way I can pre-reg before I have my new license in hand? Like, maybe keep an eye on the number assignments for 2004? I beleive they post 'em on the LRRS site...

If I pre-reg in March for all my races, chances are the good grid positions won't be available 'til like, the last half of the year...

When did you send in your renewal?? I already have my number and a temp license. If you look at the number assignments you will probably see it there before you get the license.

Are you hoping if you pre-register now you can start the race from turn 3 while the rest of us start from the start line
