That wreck happened in July of 2001 in turn 2 at NHIS, Loudon NH.
The cornerworker that was hit, Rob, survived. He had many injuries including broken ribs, pelvis and tailbone as well as some nasty bruising and gashes. Rob has a webpage about that crash, someplace, I'll see if I can find it.
The rider, Rick, also survived that crash, only to be killed about 2 years later in a street crash.
The other cornerworkers name was also Rick and he survived without any broken bones, but was bruised and sore.
The race was flagged after the first accident and it was confirmed that both a yellow and a debris flag was out on turn 2. It appears that as the 4-5 riders that come through the turn staggered (without any apparent passing) were able to see the workers and make a decision to go high or low, that by the time the last of the group had a visual, it was too late to react.
Some of those voices are NESR'ians I believe. There is an old thread about this crash on here too.
The dude that filmed it used to log in as JonGold...
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
... and some of the voices you hear are myself, my wife, my mom and my dad... it was my moms one and only trip to the track... never was able to get her up there to watch me race...
scary crash in deed....
Rick died two years later in a street crash? I talked to him four and a half years after that crash and he seemed pretty alive at the time. I went to school and had known him a long time, Who told you he's dead?
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
Also, I was told by rick that there was no flag out in the corner at all. Both cornerworkers left the corner and noone was flagging so I don't know who confirmed that. The two riders in front of rick split revealing the scene and giving rick zero time to react. He hit the brakes so hardhe locked the pads to the rotors and he snapped the calipers off the fork legs.

Someplace, when I was reading about this along time ago, I read that he died in a street crash. I appoligize if that is wrong.
That got me pretty worked up. It looks like Degs said in the other thread that you linked that the other rider died in a street crash.

Yeah. I'm surprised. I can't remember where I heard it, but I was told the rider died in a street crash close to the vanilla bean two years later.
Sorry. Bad info. Wish I could rememebr where I heard it.
