Note on the numbers issue: Last year I submitted wording from the WERA rulebook, which Don adopted. It made it easier on you guys as far as the numbers, but some people totally blew it. Read it again and note the wording as far as serifs on your "1"'s (I had three bad I.D.'s from cornerworkers who couldn't tell the sevens from the ones during the Labor Day weekend.) and placement of four inch numbers on your fairings if you want to play AMA Pro and put the single number on your tailpiece.
Notice we didn't have manual scoring this season. Our Geek Squad (Steve, Andy and Graham) wired up the tower and had some bitchin' remote control cameras on the fence at the Start/Finish line. In order for the Starter and these cameras to be able to ID your bike, the rulebook will be addressing legibility of the front numbers. We looked at the WERA rule, which requires a centered set of front numbers regardless of the location of the air intake scoop. What we will most likely require is that if you can't center your numbers then two sets of front numbers will be required, one set on each side of the scoop.

Look for an announcement on an exciting addtion to the Loudon Classic program!
Johnny while i believe the WERA rule book sets some awesome examples on things should be done, LRRS should be following the CCS rulebook more closely. Especially with having a ASRA race.

We don't because, quite frankly, there are quite a few things that CCS does which we don't agree with.

If we were to follow CCS's suit, we wouldn't be gridding by points, ("A majority of riders don't want to grid by points." - Eric Kelcher) Other things, such as allowing Propelyne Glycol in the coolant, (Eric acknowlegded that the shit is slippery, but he said the chances are remote that coolant would be dropped on the racing line. ) gridding amateurs in front of experts, ("Kevin Elliot says that's how they do it, that's good enough for me." - Henry DeGouw) and mandating that transponders be mounted on the tail section (Contrary to AMA, WERA, the LRRS rulebook and the AMB users' manual.) are downright boneheaded.

Numbers are the same. Eric Kelcher stated that CCS wouldn't allow numbers on the fairing because they said scorers are used to looking to the tail section. All fine and dandy, but if you can't read the numbers on the tail, the rule is kind of stupid. We've had a serious problem with identifying bikes this year, it has to change.

Will Mellissa Paris be coming? Get her locked in. What kind of lap time at Loudon could she post aboard her 250?

If she does show up, I've got an idea for her umbrella boy. Kinda like compensation for VIR!

I will pitch in Johnny! I was going to do it this past year but my injury but the stops to it.

Let's DO IT! But it has to be an adult castle and racers must wear full gear.

Read again, Doc. I said during the Vintage Celebration. This past season they didn't allow anyone (not even me) to camp inside the tunnel during that event. Everyone was required to stay in the parking lots outside the tunnel. After checking to see if it was OK, I set up in Cackle's Corner, the first spot of land uphill from the parking lots. It is normally the exclusive campsite for Cackle and other notables from Maine during the NASCAR events. They are the core of Bob Bahre's associates.

I've got mixed feelings about that, Oxx. I don't feel comfortable at all with all the constant and unnecessary pedestrian traffic back and forth across the pit lane during these things. Until that can be controlled, I'm not pushing for a race.
The endurance race we have with USCRA I'm more comfortable with. We have a "stop box" like you see at the Isle of Man and require bikes to stay in 1st gear until they clear all of the teams' pits.

I've heard bits and pieces about a separate Motard course with the jumps and stuff elsewhere on the property. As it stands now, the Classic is too close to the Cup race, when they're trying to pretty up the place for television.

It's 32 feet long. No Nitro Circus style stunts though, we absolutely cannot put a bike through it, just over it.
