I preregistered for the GTL race on Sunday, Race 1
Race times for GTL the first weekend last year Novices were 1:20-1:32
How did I miss this?![]()
I want to switch to LWSB where the times were 1:22-1:46
LWSS on saturday times were 1:24-1:44
and
ULSB times were 1:24-1:47See the trend? Plus the LWSB is $25 cheaper!
I emailed LRRS. Should I call?

It's the getting lapped part that bothers me... Guys be blowing by me like I am standing still. Plus I registered early and I will most likely be in the pack going into 1.![]()

If they're that much faster than you, you're not going to be in the pack at turn one. Faster racers will go by you like you're standing still, it's way safer in my opinion than pushing a pass on someone who is at very close speeds. If you're afraid of getting lapped or passed quick and close then racing is not something you're going to like.
If you need to make changes to registrations don't e-mail anything. It's worthless. You need to speak with the office and they will tell you to fax over a letter with any changes, your name, number, signature and exactly what you want to do. Be crystal clear.
It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?
Just relax, Be smooth and predictable, Hold your line. Go as fast as you can safely. Riders will get around just fine. just stay on the line the teach you at the penguin.
DO NOT TRY TO MOVE OUT OF THE WAY, BECAUSE MORE OFTEN THEN NOT YOU WILL BE MOVING IN THE WAY.
Dont Look behind you, Just breath and ride. When someone passes you Try to follow them.
If you can follow SMF he has really smooth lines around the track
Dont come in last and enjoy yourself
Doc, just run it.
Any idea of lap times you run at Louden?
If you are anywhere in the low 30's you will be FINE. Besides, GTL in novice is just a red-flag fest anyways. I've never been in one that has finished.

GTL on Saturday is AM/EX
Ok, 1st I am not afraid of getting passed, I quite expect it. I just don't want to hold anyone up. Although in Novice I guess it doesn't matter.
My lap times are in the mid to High 1:30's I hope to drop some because I haven't REALLY pushed it yet since I am just trying to get the lines and smoothness down.
Not really happy that it is a Red Flag fest! That means someone might take me out.
I'll run it... I f anything for the practice. If I don't like it I will switch the next weekend (SMF doesn't run GTL, he runs LWSB)

GT's are the best bang for the buck out there, good practice.

a wise man once told me.....
"Pussies can't be heroes".... and if you're too slow, "just get a couple of guys to lift it"... and with those two things considered, if you still can't make up your mind between GTL and LWSB, pick "Bemused".

Don't worry about getting taken out, it's mostly the 600's and 750's doing that in the NV GT race. They tend to highside out of 12 pretty consistantly. The smaller bikes are usually passing them.
Whatever you do, treat every lap like the last one. I made the mistake of thinking that the race wasn't even half over yet and got in a nice rythm behind Neal (silverdragon). Red flag comes out, race is done. Wah wah wah.

Do the LWSB if you can in addition to GTL. I had more fun in LWSB than any other race all season. I am kicking myself for not doing it more than once!

You need to run LWSS on Saturday so i can smoke you on my motard.

I remember the race. I went by, and you stuck to me, as we whittled up through the pack. I saw the flag on the brakes into T1, on the 3rd place guy's wheel, thinking "Shit, I can see 2nd place from here, too, WHY god, WHY - I want more laps."
And when he means like the last one, I think he means like the final lap, as opposed to the lap before it. Which, if applied properly, would be one and the same.

HA! those 1.40s in the lightweight classes were probably me on the malfunctioning NSR. never have i been passed so many times in one race as that Oct. Weekend.![]()
i wouldn't worry about being lapped. just do your best to ignore them as they go flying past. it's their responsibility to get around you. just follow your line and think like a road cone.
Chad..... Seriously, if you're still racing Novice you're the gayest homo ever. Stop picking on the babies & come play w/ the big boys.
If your faggitass DOES stay in Novice I don't wanna hear ANY smack talk from you about passing ANYONE or winning ANY races, you SALLYNovice Advancement
