Already got clamps....and let me tell ya......what an improvement!!!!! Motards definitely need to change their clamp offset. As soon as the 21" inch dirt wheel get replaced with a 17", all the trail in the bike goes out the door. The clamps bring it back.
Don't you and Pete sell those as well, for all makes and models, not just KTM??

Yeah is it really wortht the loot?

Definitely worth the "ching". Pete put a set on E. Wood's bike last weekend, then Jeff went and did a 15.6 on it. He said the bike never handled better.Originally posted by rmbbikes

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

Boston --> San Diego
That price is pretty good for a set of full clamps.
I have tri-starrs on mine with a reduced offset, makes a world of difference.
Then again, I can't do 15's on a motard.![]()
I hear that Mike! The tri star clamps are sick! I just put them on for the last weekend and what an improvement!!! Now if Cates can make so good ol fashioned nasty threats to those guys to make me a bracket so I can use my GPR damper, I'll be all good.Originally posted by mmracer37

We can do a group buy on the clamps if we can get an order for 6 set.
let me know the M,M,Y and I'll get exact pricing. We can anodize many colors so spec. a color, and if damper if you have one. Also I need to know what handle bars you have.
2005 CRF 450X stock renthal bars yo. I need a set if they are gonna drop that much time.
Only question is How will it affect my woods riding?
Am I going to have to buy another Bike just for dirt? Maybe a CRF250x???

My motard came with two sets of forks, with the stock forks in the stock clamps for easy swapping on dirt days
that was gonna be my next question but ya beat me to it keith!![]()
I'll to explain this breifly, but it's very complex so here is the cliff notes version. Most road race bikes have 97-105 mm of trail. That includes 125's to Superbikes. Dirt bikes have 100-115mm of trail, some have a little more. When you replace the 21/18(19) inch tires with 17" wheels and street tires you get around 78-83mm trail. The result is that light vague feeling on the motards. Ever wonder why you can't trail brake a motard? That's why, there is little feel, you will just tuck the front. It has nothing to do with the leverage of the dirt bars, you simply can't feel the front tire. By reducing the off set (and the company that was highlighted at the top of this post is WAY, WAY off) you add trail and feel. This was the only change made to Eric's CRF, and even with a motor that went through more coolent than gas he still did 1:16:4's in traffic, with out trying. His best prior was a 1"16:2, all alone and going for it. Jeff did a 1:15:6 battling Doug Henry and said the time came from being able to feel the front and carry more speed in, as well as trail brake all the way to the apex.
Now if you take that same bike and add back in the 12/18(19) wheels you will so much trail it will be very hard to change direction. You can ride it, but it will wear you out. My KTM came with 14mm off sets, I now have 20mm to make it work on the trails. At an MX track where I could slam it into a berm and compress the suspension, it was great, but on the trails it was very hard to flick through the trees. Just remember the old saying "Jack of all trades, Master of none"
