    Tank sliders

Does anyone make tank sliders for any other bikes but the R6?

It seems that it would make sense to me to have them, since everyone eventually slides their track bike across the track.

Or, do they hurt more than they help?

    Re: Tank sliders

They'll help with grinding, but not impact, which is 9/10s of what happens to a gas tank.

    Re: Tank sliders

+1 to what the squirrel man said. The new gen R6's have a point right where they may contact the pavement, making it pretty easy to grind through and ruin someones day.

As far as I know thats the only bike that has the issue. Of course anything is possible throwing the bike down on the track, but I've smashed up my share of gas tanks and never had a problem. I'm sure you'll be fine.

gas tank on the SV is pretty tough to hit especially if you have good frame sliders. the only way the tank would hit is through dirt and gravel or if the clipon snapped off. youll be fine.

    Re: Tank sliders

The reason why the R6's have them is because they had a nasty habit of getting hungry after crashing, wanting to grill up some burgers & hot dogs.

SV tanks don't rupture, they just dent.

I should be up at NHMS July 20 - 22. Be there. I don't kill myself on the street. It's not worth it.
