Any one know of a Motard set up / kit for a CRF 450 as I would like to run this and the Hawks when I finally get to the track .... unless of course they run at the same time
the CRF is going to get the GMD massage and a couple of fine tuning (fuel delivery) mods but basically remain stock for now.
trying to make a list of stuff I need:
1. tires
2. rims with rotors and calipers
3. suspension set up
4. ???? this is where I need some help .... I know some of you have the KTM's that are already set up but I want to be able to switch tires and run this bike in a couple of different style events. meaning I might want to run this off road a bit and commute with it. yea yea I know it sounds silly to commute with a CRF but I live only 13 miles from my work.
thanks for any leads and even more so for the critiscizm .....

I just motarded my CRF250x
$1000- 1300 for rims
then rotor and brake caliper
then tires
then...
You can run it in ULSB but you don't have to. Motards can run in a couple races...

motards are evil....and they already have plenty of them at LRRS...you should build it into one of those roland sands mini GP bikes.
I have done 2 CRF's already.
Look on supermotojunkie.com and thumpertalk.com for rims. They can be had for around 500 bucks. You want to look for at least a 4.50 in rear. Some of the cart track guys run 4.25 rims which will work but IMO just to narrow. I run a 5.50 inch and it works mint. if you do get used rims make sure they include the spacers. This is a huge pain in the ass if you don't get them with the wheels.
Stick with the stock caliper and run the ebs 320 MM rotor with the caliper relocation kit. Get some Vesrah pads.
Order yourself a 15tooth front sprocket and a 40 or 39 rear. Lose the chain guide.
Slap in a 172main jet, air screw out 1/2 turn, and open the airbox.
Oh yeah get some hand guards so when you crash you only fuck them and maybe a peg up.
Good luck shoot me a pm if you got any questions.

ps. buy a base gasket, head gasket, piston, rings, and clips, and be prepared to do at least one top end a season a,d a crank in the off season.
