Well that was a season changer.
No broken bones! But the Send it red rider was not so lucky!
Pretty cool to see Pedrobot back in the mix this round, hope he does well.
Pedrobot is an animal. He was a wild card earlier in the season a couple months back and ended up being a SOLID fantasy team pick-up finishing 7th with 19 fantasy points in Jerez. 19 points isn't a ton but he was only 1.4 mil, I think.
I suspect he'll be a good pick-up this weekend as well. He's 1.7 mil this go around, but it seems like he and the KTM engineers have been putting in a whole LOTTA work on that full carbon chassis.
got a new dog, he's a TV junky, watching our first GP race together right now, he is FASCINATED by it.... looks like his new favorite show:rockon:
C'mon, man... you know the rules... where's the Dog Tax? :picsorstfu:
no pics of him watching, but this is him

must be motorsports related, he seemed to enjoy the end of indycar race as well...
I need to get a picture of Ares watching. He was sitting on the couch watching intently Sunday
Pedrosa's a stud... As much as I love Jack Miller, if he doesn't turn things around I'd love to see Dani make a comeback.
However I'm pretty certain a position like that is a lot more likely to go to Acosta, yeh?
Miller just can't make it through a race anymore. And if he does, he usually starts strong and fades fast. He's not showing KTM much at this point.
I like him too, but KTM wants a championship contender. They have one in Binder, and not in Miller.
Got a chance to look at the numbers and this race was *fast*
Martin set a new lap record at 1:30.390 breaking the old record by almost 0.7sec, five riders on three different makes beat the old record in qualifying. During the race Martin did not see any tire drop off - first flying lap 1:32.4, next to last lap 1:32.1, every lap in the low 32s or upper 31s
Total race times
2023 - 41:33.421
2022 - 41:43.199
2021 - 41:48.305
2020 - 42:02.272
2019 - 42:25.163
52 seconds faster than 2019! Note - looking online I think the track was resurfaced before the 2020 race so that would account for some time, still, 30sec faster than 2020!
Awesome fucking race! Good thing the moved the race to Saturday judging by how the sighting lap for moto 3 is going. Going to be some ugly riding out there.
Tissot canceled
So fucking pumped for Zarco!!!
Race was great as a whole, the top 5 battle was phenomenal. Unfortunately, social media spoiled the Zarco win for me, I probably would have been in tears had I not known. Well deserved for a true sportsman and class act. LFG ZARCO!!!!
I was happy for Zarco, he seemed in disbelief in the interview. Martin cannot be happy with the cancelled sprint race! Doh!
I can't imagine there was a single GP fan out there that wasn't happy for Zarco outta that last corner. SO great to see him finally on the top step. You could see in his eyes & hear in his voice how much it meant to him. He posted an awesome pic to Insta where he's mid-backflip off of the bike in front of his garage with the whole team. :twothumb:
That was such a good race. Was bummed about the sprint, but the main was a great show. I'm glad they shuffled the schedule and I bet they are too.
I really can't understand the decision making for Martin going out on the soft tire that Michelin flat out said was not recommended at all.
His pace is faster than Pecco. Give him the same tire and let him do the work.
I think the team's goal was to maximize his chances of to the the front & running away with the win. They thought he could make it last the distance and he damn near did. Miscalculated by less than one lap.
Hindsight...
I assume Martin himself made the decision. He's a big boy. He knows what he has.
Yeah, same. I assume it's generally the rider's decision with the team's input.
I didn't hear about Michelin's warning that Clayton mentioned but that doesn't surprise me. Were there ANY other riders on the soft rear?
Thin line between genius & instanity... and in this case, that line was only about 6 corners long.
I think Marquez was on it.
Marquez doesn't have anything to lose. Martin had it in the bag had he just been on the right tire.
What a fucking battle today!!! Shame about Binders penaly.
Really hoping the Martinator wins the championship.
Pretty outstanding race!!!
