What do you guys think about that pass on Pedrosa?
Good result for Rossi, wasn't it?
Agreed Richie. Limoncelli has to relax a bit and stop crashing and/or getting people involved in dangerous situations. He is fast though.
I can't stand pedrosa, so anything that happens to him other than death is ok by me. Seems if he had waited a second for Simoncelli to turn in they both would have been ok. Simoncelli is bringing his "A" game for sure and people like pedrosa shouldn't expect him to get out of the way. It's a race after all. jmo

I think Richie has it perfect. Anybody else it would have been called an aggressive pass and a racing incident. Simoncelli has gotten a reputation for things like that and he needs to back off. Teams aren't going to sign him if he keeps wrecking bikes and acting like a bully on the track. Not to mention that one of these days somebodys going to pay him back and its not going to be pretty.

I'm still waiting on lorenzo's fine for using dovi as a berm.
simoncelli's pass was tough, but it's racing, pedrosa could've yielded earlier.

Pedrosa and Simoncelli were both on my fantasy team. It went from being a 2-3 finish to Pedrosa breaking a collar bone and Simoncelli getting a drive through penalty and finishing 5th. It seriously sucked balls to watch. I think Marco was thinking he'd be able to run down Stoner if he could get by Pedrosa, its just too bad he made the pass to early.
As much as I don't care for Dani ---Marco should have given up the pass.
I actually feel for Pedrobot for once
My all time distate now anyway is for Stoner...![]()
Agreed. Again the factory Hondas seem to be outperforming almost everybike outthere. I mean, in the last race prior to Pedrosa's crash there were 4 Hondas in the top 5 spots. Four Hondas. Couple the exit speeds of the Hondas and Stoner's ability and you have a winning combination.
Lorenzo, currently leads the championship but not for long. I'm rooting for Rossi but it is no easy task to tame the Desmo. Mind you, Rossi would have finished 5th if it wasn't for Pedrosa's and Simoncelli's misfortune.
Anyone watch the Moto2 race? It makes me violently angry what happened to Espagaro on lap 2 or 3 or whatever. He went so far off track that I think he could see Italy, but there no penalty cause he slotted in where he was before the mistake. He should be required to lose places for a mistake that big.
I haven't watched to the Moto2 race yet. I'll look out for that incident when I do.
Ohhh...yeahh....I know what you too are talking about now.
Reminds me of a similar situation: Senna, had a situation where he crashed with Prost in the last race where Senna only had to finish the GP in order to clinch the title (yet again). Prost could not finish the race as a result of the crash and Senna re-joined by driving through the barricades. Prost immediately, during the remainder of the race, ran up to the race commission and complained. End result: Senna was disqualified for not running the entire course of the race and he lost the world title that season.
yeah but Simoncelli braked way late and came in across the front of Pedrosa. Did look kinda like Pedrosa got spooked and stood it up a little bit when he should have just kept leaning. but it was Simo's fault the whole way. Sucks cause I was starting to get a little respect for Pedrobot this year after finally showing some balls and actually getting involved in race battles.

IMO that was a completely douche move for Simoncelli and it pains me to say that because I cant stand Pedrosa. There is a line between aggressive and reckless, and he crossed it bigtime.

Where would they do the stop and go? Down the front straight, off to the side? Pretty good idea though.
I like the self-policing AMA has in place. I think it was Josh Hayes who jumped the start from pole, but just let off the throttle and fell back to third and didn't receive any penalties from it. In my opinion, that's how racing should be. I don't think Biaggi should've been black flagged for blowing a start a few races ago.
As far as aggressive passes... Rossi wasn't penalized at all for taking out Stoner in the rain, yet Simoncelli got a ride through for a pretty similar move on Pedrosa. Sometimes the history needs to be overlooked and the situation needs to be looked at on a case by case basis.
I think Rossi got in too hot and ran out of talent, Simo ran out of talent and then got in too hot. subtle difference.

Ohhh...yeahh!!! Almost forgot, Rossi did force a move on Stoner a couple of Races ago in Jerez and caused Stoner to crash, did he not?

I dont mind self policing, especially at the start, in normal situations. This was FAR from normal though. He only lucked out because the track has so much concrete runoff. Any other track he would've been in the gravel pit. Just seems unfair to be able to make THAT big of a mistake and come back in the place you were just in.
