interestingly I do tend to ride/race with my mouth open a little. the original rx7rr arai's front vent was a straight-through shot of air in front of your mouth. I remember a bug slamming into the back of my throat on a sunday morning ride in NJ about 15 years ago

let me know if you find them. Brian Jefferies (remember him?, fast on a KTM SMR 450) wouldn't race without his and I've always meant to pick one up. need to get off my ass and do it.

I was thinking about pulling out my hockey guard after hearing about Nick's off in NJ last month for when I am at the track. Glad to know I'm not the only one.

You want a Gel Max or a Gravity 2? I know you can find the Gel Max pretty much anywhere... Sports Authority, Dick's, etc. Not sure if they'll carry the Gravity.

not sure. after reading about them both it's clear-as-mud. sports authority doesn't list the gravity, but they have the nano which is in the same class as the gravity for protection. gel max isn't insured for as much $$, but specifically claims impact protection. think I'll take a ride out to SA.

I said fuck-it and ordered the Gravity. The more protection, the better. I do like the fact that it's made with full-faced helmets in mind. (and yes, I also opted for the $7 anti-microbial case for it, since it'll be sitting on my gear tote between track days.)

    Re: Mouthguards...

fyi, the local SA has the gravity 2 (and almost all the others). it fits well, it's a little weird having it on my bottom teeth, but that might just be me. we'll see how it works this weekend.

I went to this one. I'd imagine they all have them (probably Dick's too) http://maps.google.com/maps/place?ci...0&z=12&iwloc=A

I think we all know some guys who are huge pussies and think they're heroes. Sorry for the lost sarcasm.

I was just qouting Peter Kates "Pussies can't be hero's"

    KB

But I'm still not sure bout the mouth guard thing. I don't know if I would want one to get lodged in my throat while they were trying to figure out if my neck was broken or not and if they should take off my helmet or not.

Ever use the pivotrim weedwacker product?

Danny Pedrosa with the win!!! Broken legs will do that.

As someone who has broken their jaw three seperate times and wakes up every day in pain, I wont ride aggresively without one. For me it's about clentching my teeth when I concentrate.

    Re: Mouthguards...

So I picked up my gravity 2, followed the directions, and now it feels as if I've bitten the shock absorption right out of the thing. It was fairly squishy before, now it feels rock solid (like every other mouthguard). Moral of the story, don't follow the directions?
