thats one of my all time favorite passes, just for the fun factor of riding on the outside of someone around T9 laying on their bike.
Doesn't happen against the really fast guys though. Rule of thumb, if you're getting passed in 9 you're not going NEARLY fast enough through there haha.
yeah, i've talked to pk about it before. the front pushes in 9 for everyone. he can tune it out, then you get faster and it pushes again, and he tunes it out again, then you get faster, etc.

But there's no air on the moon, how come the wind is kicking up dust in that picture?

Ron Poulin back in August, not sure what happened exactly but he lost it going into 9 and his bike ended up in the trees behind the track.
The nurse at the hospital thought I was his son
Getting a little off topic though, just thought I'd throw another crazy T9 pic into the mix after denno's

Maybe someone mentioned this already (didn't real all 5 pages!), but for me practice was never about lap times, but sections.
So while my total lap time may have been 1 or 2 seconds off my race pace... in any particular section or sections, I might have been on or even faster!
Basically, I used practice to get up to speed and to put sections of the track together (knowing that I would not likely get a clean entire lap).
Now... the warmup lap was a different story. I never understood going real slow on the warmup lap. In my head, that was the only time I had to get my body on race pace!
I had more "almost" crashes on my warmup laps than all of my practice sessions.
Its not too tough, just need to find the balls to hold the gas as long as possible and go through some bumps, dirt, etc at like 90mph while trying to tip in for 9 so you carry more speed than the guy your trying to pass around the corner.
gets ya around the other guy tho.
105-110mph through there! There are two spots you can do it. One is at the first rumble strip. You can go from apex of 7 straight for the rumbles early in 8 staying on the gas fully as you just touch the dirt and renter the pavement as you head up to the treehouse.
The other is late in 8 near the cone that is tipped over. there's a pavement strip that just ends. There's a pretty good hole there and it's a rough line, but you have a perfectly straight setup for 9 and can hold the gas open past the treehouse. Most people are leaned to far over from taking a wide line through 8 and cannot hold it open without risking crashes like the ones above...
Just talkin smack gets my adrenalin going!
