Proper Tyre storage?

Ok so now that I have an assortment of slightly used tyres from this season, how do I store them? My assortment ranges from one race rains & slicks to mostly shagged DOT's (practice tyres). I would like to know the best way to store them. Let me hear your thoughts.

I just let 'em sit. But best thing to do if you're really worried is seal them in a dark plastic bag and put them somewhere dark and dry.

I put my spares in my heated basement.

But my bike sits in my unheated garage with brand new rubber on the rims... and that never seems to be an issue either.

I don't think you will get anything out of them after sitting all winter anyways...
